I had a front page post on dating subreddit. Everyone was agreeing with me, until one crumb went through my post history and said She post on FDS. Then all of a sudden my post was wrong, and I was bitter. I turned my messages right off. No crumb will get in my inbox to tell me a damn thing. *messages set to NOBODY CAN MESSAGE YOU*

To play devil’s advocate ok cool there could be many reasons maybe both of them don’t want to get married or are studying their PHD and wanna wait ok to each their own

But on a similarly related topic I was watching a documentary where they said the couple was ENGAGED FOR 8 YEARS!!!!!!

And I don’t have anyone else to rant to about that but omg dating for 8 years with no future prospects of marriage is one thing but 8 years of engagement what in the actual fuck lmaooo you can miss me with that I just cannot understand that one. Apparently the guy is ready to get married yet 🙃😔🙃😔

The reason I'm pro marriage is because I'm happily married, this is also in my post history so I don't know who they are trying to convince exactly.

And we started the procedure one year after we met (it was a LDR) and 6 months after that we were married. It cost him a lot of time and money to have me, and he didn't count anything because he knew he wanted me.

Miss me with this 12 years a girlfriend bullshit...

The only reason to not get married, having been together for 12 years, is if she continuously rejects his proposals. I think there was a story here recently about an older woman whose boyfriend was proposing once a year and she kept saying no? That's it. That's the only reason. But if he's not asking it's because he's not actually in love and is holding out just in case he meet cutes the perfect 20 year old coed at the dog park or whatever the fuck. Some men are so delusional that they will hold out like this for an entire lifetime.

Make no mistake, a man in love will propose (but an important side note: not all men who propose are in love). Men who claim overwise have probably never actually been in love once in their entire lives and don't even realize it because they're so emotionally underdeveloped. They mistake infatuation, lust, and/or warm feelings for love. Just look at how so many women the world over will set themselves on fire to keep their man warm, yet in comparison so few men will do the same for their woman. Actual deep abiding love requires empathy and the impulse to put the person you love before yourself and the majority of men are incapable of it. Men rarely fall in love like women do.

But the silver lining for the women involved with scrotes like this is that at least they're not legally tied to someone who begrudgingly settled for them and went through the motions, complete with marriage. Hopefully someday their eyes will be opened and they can move on with their lives. I know what it's like to love someone who doesn't actually love you back and I don't think I'd wish it on my worst enemy.
