I’m wary of matchmakers and dating/love “gurus” generally. At the end of the day, they are profiting from people’s (mostly women) human desire to pair bond. They don’t address the statistical reality that there are more relationship oriented women that have their acts together than there are men. This is gaslighting at a societal level! I enjoy the work of Sami Wunder but...her husband is really unattractive. I’m sorry if that is mean but a lot of us would be coupled up if we dated men that we were not sexually attracted to. Also, she has only been married for like 5 years...that isn’t that long and the dating game has changed within that time. Given that part of her marketing is her “happy relationship” and it’s her livelihood, what happens if things go downhill. It kind of incentivizes her to lie or do mental gymnastics to make it work.

All of these people’s incomes would dry up if they were to say, “Sorry ladies, men need to step up but they aren’t. The statistical reality that you will meet a HVM is low so you might be better off investing in other areas of your life.”

Btw- hope springs eternal. I still desire a loving marriage and children but I’m not giving my cash to people that don’t work with facts.
