Those of us who have read the sidebar are aware of the concept of hypergamy - women are always on the lookout for a better mate and will leave you if she sees that another guy has greater status and is interested in her.

But to most of us it's a pretty nebulous concept, something you hear vaguely about happening to another guy. I couldn't resist forwarding you all this little nuggest of RedPill reality from r/okcupid.

A little bit of background, r/okcupid is one of the biggest betahives that Reddit has ever seen. Anytime a guy vents about being mistreated or having bad luck in dating (especially Indian guys, but that's another story...) he's berated and called a sexist manchild. So it's no wonder that this sub is a treasure trove for stories of women-behaving-badly-and-getting-away-with-it.

Enter OP. A bright eyed, bushy tailed guy who's been chatting up a girl for a few days and decides to take her to a concert. Little does he know it, a more dominant guy has also seen the girl and is circling his prize...

So last night I had a date with a girl (Blanche) and everything was going great at first. We did arm touching and we watched Nickelback music vids etc. but then we went out to a bar and lo and behold some hipster man comes up to us and starts chatting us up. He gives Blanche some of the gin in his backpack and offers us a cigarette. I know what he's doing but I acquiesce. She seems totally into it and doesn't mind him following us around the rest of the night. Just casually tagging along, making sure he invites himself into whatever we're doing; wherever we're going...

Cold approach done right. The guy walked up, smoothly got the girl's attention and she was following him like a puppy from then on out - while on a fucking date with OP. This other guy must be alpha out the ass.

So I go into the bathroom and instead of waiting for me she tells me she's going to watch the band with this guy. I leave the bathroom but it's dark and I can't find them anywhere. I end up sitting down and reading a magazine. She realizes I'm gone and finds me about fifteen minutes later and tells me she's having another cigarette with this guy if I want to come along. I do, but at this point I know I'm a total tool. I want to go home but I don't want to be lame.

Instead of leaving like any self-respecting man would, OP sits quietly on the stairs and waits for his girl to get back after she has wandered off with the other dude (and for all we know, gotten finger-banged in the alleyway before returning). But no, instead he hangs his head in shame and rejoins them when they come back.

So we hang out for like two more hours and this guy ends up saying to HER "we should hang out sometime!" and she gets his phone number. I'm just like standing there hating my life. So he finally walks off and I say to her "He was following you around all night." Get this, she says "Oh yeah, he wants to fuck."

At this point the girl doesn't even give a shit about OP's feelings. She has been so completely enamored and uprooted by this new guy that she gives him her number in plain view of OP, and later admits to OP that the guy is hunting for a good fuck. Again... all this while they're on a date.

You may think this is just random bitch behavior but this happens all the time. Branch swinging is a real thing. Getting upstaged by another guy is a real thing.

Women's hypergamy is a more powerful force in the universe than a gravity well; never be complacent. Never assume she is safely yours. The RedPill truth here is that you must always work to maintain her attraction by showing status. If you slip up, she will slip away.
