This only works on fools. You’re effectively putting on a ruse about your own romantic value by showing that you don’t care about them and leading them to assume incorrectly that the impetus for you’re not caring is linked to you’re having other romantic options. It’s essentially the same thing as another woman being interested in you.

I think women are unconsciously/instinctually repulsed by a man whose affection becomes too predictable and too constant. Such behavior (and the absence of put-downs) signals to the woman that the man has been "conquered/obtained/won/achieved". A respectful, conquered man is no longer a prize to be won; he is now just another possession and thus on her level (or beneath) which conflicts with her hypergamous instinct to seek men above her level.

A man who frequently shows defiance, or who doles out subtle jabs, negs, back-handed complements or even insults (delivery and content matter) is ultimatley signalling to the woman that he has not been conquered and is not under her control. (Edit: it can also imply that he has options, which is attractive to women. An overly respectful man could imply he has no other options, which disgusts women.)

A woman has a higher chance of perceiving a man (with mating potential) who has not been conquered as interesting and exciting and thus "above" her in a way that would appeal to her hypergamous instinct, which in turn could keep the flame of her attraction going.

I think the mechanism at play here is similar to the one (or the same one) that causes women to become more aroused (during sex) when the man she's with calls her all sorts of derogatory names (whore, slut, etc).

This is an interesting tactic. In this day and age, most women are getting validation from different sources i.e Stares/Double takes in public boost the ego/validate. Compliments day to day from men, compliments from women who are looking for a compliment in return " Awww you're so pretty" ... "Oh my gosh you too". Social media e.g Instagram/Facebook likes and comments from men AND women with👀👀👀😍😍🤩. These all send a rush of dopamine and gives her validation. Now when a woman who's used to getting these suddenly doesn't from someone the she instantly get intrigued and wants to learn why she did not get validated. Now you could say this works for both sexes but right OP is focusing on women.

When you neg or don't give validation she almost instantly seeks that validation and also looks inward to wonder why she did not get anything? "Maybe I didn't do my makeup right or maybe I'm not good looking". It plants a seed of self doubt but one key aspect to remember is that this normally only works on women who are insecure or low value. Now this isn't a personal attack on insecure women but it's the truth.

A lot of women have an innate feeling of wanting to belong and to be validated and this can be linked to the evolutionary approach, where if a woman isn't apart of the group then it may affect her overall survival . I digress, so when you don't validate a woman you stand out and she now seeks your validation/approval because you go against the grain.

A good example of begging and not giving approval would be a woman askin if she looked overweight in an outfit and the male replies with " Well you could do with losing a few kilos but you're lucky being thicc is in right now". This would be like a back handed compliment but for a woman with low self esteem it would work. Women with high self esteem don't really react to these as often though but these are the women that don't require validation all the time because they know their worth already. Not like some women that say they know their worth but use that phrase as a cover. This is just my viewpoint but I'm interested to see other angles.

Because women instinctively understand their place is beneath men. The whole sex act requires them to be penetrated by a powerful dominant male. Plus they’re attracted to evil because it was evolutionarily adaptive in the Cretaceous era and women’s sexually stopped evolving at that point. Submitting to a strong sociopath turns them on.

The only way women can trust that you are above them on the social totem pole is by treating them like absolute garbage.

The more attractive she is, the worse you have to treat her to keep her interest.

This is what women mean when they say a guy isn’t exciting. They’re indicating he treats them lovingly and with respect, which their hindbrain knows they are unworthy of.
