This is something I recently posted to the music theory sub. I believe it has Red Pill implications that I discuss below.

"I am a musician who recently starting looking into the psychology of music and human emotion. I was reading research explaining theory's about why certain music sounds "happy" or "sad." Mostly based on the fact that happy chords and note progressions closely resemble human voice inflection when feeling happy, and vise versa. (Very interesting stuff by the way) Eventually, I began wondering why so many people prefer music with negative emotions to positive ones. There were some theory's about living vicariously through the music, etc... But I though of one on my own that reaches a deeper level.

I am personally attracted to very dark music that mostly invokes negative emotions. I wanted to know why as a generally happy person my music preference is comprised of death/black metal, somewhat depressing 90's grunge, etc. I started thinking of emotions from an evolutionary mindset. On a primitive level, what emotions do these emotions make you feel? (Not on LSD I swear haha bear with me) In other words, what is our "relationship" with these emotions like?

I came to the conclusion that negative emotions might actually invoke feelings of comfort towards the emotion itself. This is because negative emotions (anger, sadness, aggression, discontent) come to your aid. Negative emotions help you when you need them most. Like a good friend who is there for you without even asking. Imagine a tribe of primitive humans. When another tribe is threatening your village, anger/aggression is immediately there for you and helps you protect your family. When people you loved died in the attack, sadness was there for you without request to help you comprehend what happened and eventually move on. Happy emotions are not like this.

Happy emotions are not there for you, you must seek them out. You have to prove yourself worthy of positive emotions. Almost like a friend who constantly needs you to prove to them you're worthy of being their friend. Positive emotions feel great, reward you for accomplishments, and give you incentive to do certain things. Very good feelings, but very conditional feelings. Whereas negative feelings are there for you unconditionally. So when listening to angry/sad/aggressive music, it's almost like hanging out with an old friend who has always been there for no matter what. The best friends are the ones who were with you in the lowest points of your life. Not the ones who became your friends when you had already achieved greatness."

I believe what I describe (although not stated) mostly relates to men. The embracing of negative emotions is something shared among masculine men and has been a key to our success through the ages. We understand the value of these emotions, and view them with reverence. Whereas we understand that positive ones are temporary reinforcement that we are succeeding, and must not be taken too seriously or with too much content. For if they are, progress ceases. Negative emotions are the ones that drive us forward.

Furthermore, women tend to have a harder time with these emotions and do not understand why we celebrate them. This is because, for the most part, they have not been the ones unitizing them as a means to success. My last line, "The best friends are the ones who were with you in the lowest points of your life. Not the ones who became your friends when you had already achieved greatness." We are bound as men by this. Women will befriend you at your peak, men will be at your side in battle. Always remember that the truest mutual love and friendship is between men.

Feminist society will tell you that music associated with these emotions is evil and counterproductive. Embrace the darkness, brothers.
