Hey guys, This is my first time posting here and I just wanted to share with you my struggle as a man here in the states. I have been living here since 2011 trying to get my PhD in engineering. One of my main issues since I came here is how to deal with women, the dynamic is difference. it's hard since I get a lot of rejections because of where I came from. I started reading this Subreddit a lot and it made a lot sense . A year ago I had a really bad experience with a Middle Eastern girl that I had fallen in love with. she was born here in the States but grew up back in the Middle East, I started having feelings for her and when I asked her out she reacted really violently saying things like I'll never ever date someone like you, and I always made sure that I treated you differently than all the other guys, which is true when I looked back at how the friendship were. problem is now I have to deal with her at least 3 times a week in a class. The hard part was that When I talked to mutual friends, they all said that she told them all that she only wants to be with American guys. Which truly made me feel of lower value or a second class citizen. The problem is that I have noticed when I tried to ask other girls out that I get rejected based on the same reasons. It really sucks... I started working out more often, trying to eat as healthy as possible, do as much fun activities as possible. but it still feels hard, and I lost a lot of friends in this group since all of them prefer to be with the cute girl over the rejected guy while admitting that what she said and did was wrong. I speak American English and i don't have a thick accent, I do my best to be clean and groomed. I truly think now that it's all up to the SMV and that I need to work on increasing my own. My problem is : How I deal with this girl? Ignore, just be civil?

How do I ask girls out if the stereotype is so strong and apparently middle eastern guys are not of a higher SMV?
