It occurs to me that if a woman was genuinely and enduringly sexually attracted to her long-term partner she wouldn't be able to use sex strategically in order to motivate or punish him. Therefore the less sexually attracted to him she is, the more power she has over him. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if this is so useful from an evolutionary perspective that being in a committed relationship triggers some mechanism to turn off her attraction to him.

And that does seem to be consistent with what we see. So many men complain that the sex dried up (heh) very soon after the wedding. If what I'm thinking is correct, those women may actually have been genuinely sexually attracted to their designated plantation worker originally, but once he was secured a suite of desire-destroying female instincts kicked in to maximise his utility to her and to also minimise the chance of her making unsexy beta sons when she could be sneaking off to make sexy Chad sons.

And if this is true then even genuine Chads would notice a huge drop in sexual interest from their partners after commitment, if they were stupid enough to offer it.
