Yup, I get a good laugh out of most the posts. Comments are a bit toxic and over the top sometimes but meh, not like they're directed at me.
I'm happily married to one of the good guys, but his crazy ex has an aunt for a lawyer who keeps sueing us for breathing 10 years after they've divorced. So seeing people see through this thin bitch screen they have cheers me up.

The nesting impulse is real. I've seen it with my own wife multiple times where suddenly she'd be super interested in finishing up home renovations in the third trimester, lol.
Humans are heavily invested in intelligence over physical prowess, which means that kids take a ton of time and resources to raise to maturity. We aren't like birds that can fly and hunt for prey/food within weeks.
Mothers instictively know this and begin to seek stability. They know they need resources and safety. Ideally, they will seek this security with the mate who created the children (and, thus, the male who is most likely to stick around and raise them). The father is supposed to assist in protect the young from other predators. In some cases in the wild, if a new male mate comes along, it will even destroy all the existing offspring.
Thanks to feminism, thousands upon thousands of years of biological hardwiring have been over-written with the modern appeal of self-gratification. Go chase your "feelings" and your "dreams", as ever-changing and fickle as they are. Sure, go try to find a partner who isn't the male parent of your kid. Don't worry about having any legally binding protections in place that keep both partners together; those are oppressive and patriarchal! Go get it, girl!
Of course, biology does not change based on feelings. Some examples:
An unrelated male in the house is one of the highest risk factors for childhood abuse.
Single moms are much more likely to have failed relationships and struggle to emotionally bond to subsequent men.
Women tend to be more successful finding sexual partners early in life (because fertility and maternal health and all the features that go with it), while men tend to be more successful later in life (because security, success, etc).

Another factor is that women don't have as much incentive to look for Billy Beta when selecting a mate in the first place.
Back in the days of harsh impositions of marriage, a woman had to just pick one mate and stick with them. Their parents typically were much more involved in the selection as well. They had more incentive to consider whether the guy would be a good provider, because they didn't have a plan B option. If they married the hot guy who plays the lute, they would be living in a tent. If they married the overweight butcher or smith they'd have a servant helping with the chores. Plus their father probably would get a new business partner out of the deal.
These days the women have a lot more options. If the cute guy with the guitar doesn't work out the government will give her as much of his money as they can wring out of him, and then step in with more money if it isn't enough. Then she can go sleep with Billy Beta if she is desperate for free room and board. This gives women more incentive to follow their hearts.
Plus the culture was much more restrictive in the past. That woman wouldn't even be allowed out of her house unescorted in the past - certainly she couldn't go to some bar to hang out with friends. The cute guy with a guitar would have been forced to marry her, and if he tried to disappear he'd probably get locked up. He certainly couldn't leave a trail of spawn in his wake as he went from bar to bar or town to town. Back in those days you couldn't just move and not have people asking questions - including law enforcement and the like.

You can never know for absolutely sure just like how a man never gets to know if a woman he commits to will stay loyal and sane until the day she is not.
All you can do is practice risk assessment and based on that, proper risk management.
For an obvious example, take a man that has had multiple divorces in his past, has been to jail multiple times for failure to pay child support and other offenses, and has children from at least three different mothers. Has been fired from multiple jobs for misconduct while on the job, and is a well known philanderer in the town where he works as a bartender.
Based on that, a person not thinking with their genitals would have the sense to avoid him at all cost. But yet a man like that will still manage to leave a trail of single moms across multiple states all of whom thought they were going to be the exception to his already established history of behavior.
TLDR; Don't ignore red flags just because they make your genitals tingle.
