You are 17..Life just gets harder mate. Hang in there, get tough and dont put yourself in compromising places

[–]TheGillos30 points31 points32 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Also take 10 minutes and learn the difference between "there", "their" and "they're".

[–]getomc5 points6 points7 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

All the better for this and having come out of the experience without injury, kid don't got much to cry about. "No saviour for man," after his ass got saved over soomeone's grave.

What he really needs isn't a fucking shoulder, it's help cognitizing the situation. In all reality gangs are pretty reasonable folk when you understand the basic economics, paranoia and other miscellanious fundamentals of motivation.

Simply explainng that you are there only to skate and not sell drugs, pimp any hoes or otherwise serve as anything more than a distraction to the cops would go a lot further than you think.

He might have missed his window of opportunity to do anything diplomatic. By now, whats to be done about him in various likely scenarios has already been decided. There's pretty much only one way to find out what that is because you probably don't get a second warning.

[–]friendlysociopathic15 points16 points17 points 11 years ago (14 children) | Copy Link

Your girlfriend is shit, dump her. I know we talk about emotional stoicism a lot here but if you can't vent to your girl when you get jumped by a huge group of guys she is not even vaguely worth a LTR. And get new friends. Not everyone is a degenerate piece of dishonourable garbage - been in your situation before, dumped the losers and got much better friends. I know my friends would have my back because they have been there before, and that's why they're my friends. Anyone who fails to live up to that standard gets nexted. Ya need to get some abundance mentality with both friends and girls.

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (13 children) | Copy Link

It doesn't matter if you never had a chance or if anyone in your position had a chance against 5 guys. All a woman hears is "im not able to defend myself in this environment. I'm of a lower class. There are men much more powerful than me. If I cant protect myself, I can't protect you. I'm a bad mate to have, there's more superior sperm for this environment to fill my vagina with."

[–]MrChillBroBaggins3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yes also, if she can see herself escaping the same harm diplomatically, she probably thinks you

A. Blew it out of proportion, B. Can't fend for yourself as stated above.

Women are impressionable enough that a Jason Bourne movie has them believing 1 v 5 is a winnable fight LOL

[+]friendlysociopathic-6 points-5 points-4 points 11 years ago (11 children) | Copy Link

Not all women are the same dude. Shitty women think like that, and they are for pump-and-dumping. There are women out there who have a realistic picture of the world and of men - and they still want strong men, but they don't have unrealistic expectations.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You're describing a unicorn

[–]friendlysociopathic1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I'm describing a decent girl. There's plenty of em. You just don't meet them by using PUA tactics at nightclubs.

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (8 children) | Copy Link

False. AWALT. This will kill attraction in all women's eyes. Will all women branch swing when this happens? No. But that doesn't change their nature. They're always and forever will be looking to trade up. It doesn't matter how powerful and rich the man is. She is constantly looking for signs of weakness. It doesn't matter if your weakness is justified. You could have cancer, or hit by a drunk driver, it doesn't matter. Briffault's Law all the way.

[–]friendlysociopathic1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (7 children) | Copy Link

No, it won't. AWALT means that all women have the same tendencies, not the same outcome. Some women are smart enough to override that with higher thinking, same as some men manage to stop thinking with their dicks. You're making massively sweeping statements based on general rules that don't apply to every individual everywhere.

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

You cannot control attraction. Venting about a moment of weakness, regardless if it's justified, will result in a decrease in attraction of a woman. All of them. That is a fact. Not debateable.

[–]friendlysociopathic0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

If it's a fact that is not debatable, can you provide a scientific source explicitly stating your point please?

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

I want you to do whatever it is you do to have sex with women, then I want you take a 180, and start complaining about how life is hard and talk about how you're afraid to get beat up by other men. See what happens.

[–]friendlysociopathic-1 points0 points1 point 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

What? Talking about how you're "afraid" and complaining about life is totally different to telling a story about being beaten up. That's a complete and utter strawman.

[–]Senior Contributordr_warlock0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Okay, tell her a story about getting beat up recently. Make it believable. Seek solace in her embrace and attempt to get empathy. See what happens.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

AWALT means that all women have the same tendencies, not the same outcome

That's actually a really good way to put it :)

This is not the place to argue against literal AWALT though, as you just noticed :D

[–]czworooki9 points10 points11 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Nobody cares, unless someone with influence tell them they should.

[–]Isaiah4verse16 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

This is why men will always be stronger. We don't have anyone holding our hands through life. I'm sure in some way you'll come out of this a little wiser and stronger.

[–]RPinTraining17[S] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That I have, above anything its taught me the only person that can fend for me at the end of the day is me. I dont look to people for support now, I couldn't really care now though because I know in situations where I need it, it wont be their. Im not upset over it either, quite happy, tonight I understand more than I did this morning.

[–]RPMahoutsukai4 points5 points6 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

Honestly, the society you western guys live in is FUBAR.

I'm Russian. I live in Saint-Petersburg. I'm not a very social guy, I was a nice guy and an introvert for the majority of my life (almost 29 now, unplugged half a year ago). I hardly have any friends. I was in a near-dead-bedroom marriage for the last 6 years.

However, I have been able to quickly (actually in 5 approaches, 3 of whom I've dated) find a 20 y.o. slim attractive girl who I'm currently in LTR with, who's very supportive, caring, also submissive, enjoys Capitan - First Mate dynamic, doesn't have literally any red flags (well maybe except being too lazy to visit fitness on schedule), no stupid shit-tests, we have abundant and awesome sex, I'm her first (not technically a virgin, but she had no PIV sex with anyone before me). I don't rely on her much for support, but she's very caring, like even small details, for example, tending to my scratches or thoroughly washing my body or helping me do whatever I'm doing. It's cute and very feminine and I enjoy it very much.

Despire my ex-wife (five years older than me) not really happy with her quite rich BB dumping her, after divorce we still talk and help each other. She helped me a lot in fixing my current LTR's vaginismus, as she's got education in psychology. She also is always willing to chat and give me insights into matters she's skilled in. I reciprocate. We have a good mutually beneficial relationship going.

My few friends are mostly useless (poor, dropped out of univesity or never got a good job, playing too much computer games for their own good, single or in bad relationships) but still they're all always willing to help (even if they can't really offer much material benefit). Two of my friends who do have a proper life are also really supportive, can offer advice, harsh male-to-male truth, and even material support if I'd need it. With one of them, who's closest to RP, we frequently meet and chat, give each other advice, discuss our problems and solutions.

I believe if I'd be more social and played less computer games, I'd have even more friends who are actual friends - who can help you in a shitty situation, offer support, moral or material, and so on.

And then I read this and it feels like your society is just destroyed. FUBAR. Done. Every girl is a slut, you can't find a girl who would enjoy proper relationship, who didn't ride 100 cocks before yours, friends are useless when you need to share your problems, etc. Ridiculous, really.

[–]trpway2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

It's refreshing to see somebody from Russia on here, I honestly thought I'm the only one. The fact that western society is fubar really bothers me at times, because our society will most likely be the same in 5-10 years.

[–]RPMahoutsukai1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There's this very popular russian Orthodox preacher, Osipov Alexey Ilyich. One of the things he frequently said is that Christianity all over the world is degrading fast, like a train rushing full speed towards an abyss, and that Orthodoxy is no exception, but just happens to be located at the rear part of the train.

And over time, I am more and more agreeing with him. It kinda applies to this society situation, because, well, the word "church" actually means "bunch of people that came together", which is basically what society is, but on a larger scale.

Come to think of it, maybe, just maybe, this political situation Putin got us into will have one beneficial outcome - it will make western ideals foreign and repulsive to us, slowing down this process of FUBARisation.

[–]recon_johnny7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link

The sooner you understand that no-one gives a shit about you, then the better off you'll be.

You wanted someone to do something (react concerned, ask how you're doing)....in other words, VALIDATION of your expectation.

Essentially, no-one else saw the risk or the threat as you did. That won't change, for this or for other things.

You're young. Way too young to understand that you will be disrespected and ignored for most of your life moving forward, and that folks just won't do what you expect them to.

You can take these slights against you and let them overwhelm you, or you can adopt a IDGAF attitude. No-one else sees the world through your eyes, and that son, is frame.

[–]FemtoG[🍰] 1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

This.

If you did get your ass beat, you would've been showered with "get well soon" facebook posts and whatnot. This should re-inforce the FACT that 90% of this "support" is from selfishness, not care.

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

There really is no savior for a man

God created man. Samuel Colt made them equal.

When I was in the military I learned a lesson. Never have integrity for anyone that won't give it back. I don't owe anyone my honor or my honesty or my loyalty. I don't owe them a shoulder to cry on. This same thing goes for friendship. Ask yourself what these friends of yours are giving you in return for your kindness and loyalty.

As for your gf don't lean on her. If you do she will break.

[–]Saminess7 points8 points9 points 11 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link

Learn a Martial Art, you still don't want to have to use it in a street fight, nor do you want to get in a street fight no matter what.

But it's always good to know that you can defend yourself from one or two assailants. I recommend a striking art like Muay Thai. BJJ is good against one opponent, but leaves you open to getting kicked by his friends while you roll around on the floor with the first dude.

Striking art is made to incapacitate (even temporarily) as quick as possible so as to move to next guy or to give you enough time to leg it out of there.

Believe me, the confidence you would get from learning to use your limbs as a weapon is felt by you and those around you. And you'd be less scared of getting hit in the face, since you would be doing it habitually anyways in your free time.

Don't worry about your girlfriend, she might leave, she probably will eventually unless you do first (but don't share your fears with them, ever, like EVER). You'll find another.

Also, respect for sticking up for, and standing next to your brother, you did your job as big brother and you did it well.

[–]RPinTraining17[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I think thats a good idea, I may even swap skating for a martial art, to be honest i'm not completely inexperienced in fighting to a small degree, but i'm not at a level I'd feel comfortable with either, I think it would be a good practice to pursue.

Thanks man

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points5 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I may even swap skating for a martial art

Personally, I would. Unless you plan on being pro its a pretty big waste of time as a hobby anyways and is constantly surrounding you in negative environment/negative people. I gave that shit up when I was 14 because the I just couldn't stand the other people.

[–]Saminess0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

No worries, be the best you can be, lift, educate yourself, respect yourself and those around you. Do what you want.

Not much else matters in life.

"Laugh and the world laughs with you; weep and you weep alone"

[–]Endorsed ContributorFLFTW162 points3 points4 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Yup. This quote always reminds me of Robin Williams. Spent his life making everyone laugh. When a woman chewed him up and spat him out, to the point that his only escape was suicide, no one gave a shit. After 3 or 4 news cycles (24 hour days) everyone in the mainstream stopped giving a shit.

[–]Lt_Muffintoes0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Shit man, that's awful. Glad to hear that you came out of it ok.

I think the most valuable thing you got out of this was realising what the people around you are really like. There's nothing wrong with dumping people like that out of your life, even your own mother (this will get le downboat XD, because even here, people are disappointingly blue pilled over holding females responsible for their behaviour).

I would demote that girl to plate, if not hard next.

What does your brother think?

[–]RPinTraining17[S] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Yeah I think that too, i'm not upset by it, more happy because i'm one step further in knowing who's truly their and who isn't. This is a good step for me, came in a bad way but I learnt a lesson out of it, people dont care when it's not them, but I've also realised who to cut and where to make improvements in life.

[–]Lt_Muffintoes2 points3 points4 points 11 years ago* (3 children) | Copy Link

people dont care when it's not them

No, man. I don't want to put you down, but that's only true for the selfish arseholes who you should be cutting out. The people you want to grab and never let go are the ones who are interested in your well being mentally and physically in exactly this kind of situation.

I'm just some guy on the Internet, and it seems like I care more about you than your own parents. I imagine that their disinterest in your experience actually hurt more than the shock of almost being beaten to death, and I'm so sorry you have to deal with that.

You could try telling them how you feel about all this and that you are upset that they are more concerned with the bullshit on their fucking smartphones than you. In fact, I'd try doing that, but I gotta warn you man, they may just attack you for that. At least that will be final confirmation.

It sounds like you're the only living person in that cave full of clay soldiers. Get out before they turn you to stone too.

[–]GutShot9 3 points3 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Something similar happened to a friend one time. We were hanging out with some other friends when this group of much bigger and older guys (we were like 15) came up and started harassing my friend. It was the middle of winter and they took his shoes and threw them into the snow and made him stand there. I went to get them for him and but they told me if I did they'd kick my ass. The other people we were there with, 1 guy 2 girls, were laughing and joking around with the guys and thought it was funny. Bitches. After some more threats and bullying they finally left. We basically told the other people that they were douches and went to get my friends step brother. He was a big guy who did martial arts. We went to their house and his step sister answered the door and basically told my friend to stop being such a bitch and her brother wasn't going to do anything. But the worst part was when we went back to his house. We went up stairs and he told his mother and all she had to say was a callous "So what? What do you want me to do about it?". It even choked me up a little, but my friend couldn't even speak and the tears were welling up in his eyes. Dude changed that day. Never did I see him ask for anything from anyone ever again.

[–]Lt_Muffintoes1 point2 points3 points 11 years ago [recovered] (0 children) | Copy Link

That is messed up. Have you told him what you think about it? Maybe he needs to hear that someone actually gives a flying fuck about him

[–]Short-Guy0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Did he ever learn to stick up for himself? Did this continue to happen to him?

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The reason why no one is giving you the emotional response you want -and this is hard to say without sounding dismissive- is that it's a petty teenage squabble that could have been avoided.

The older you get the more you start to think, "ah this probably isn't worth the hassle."

Some times it's a good thing, because you get to avoid situations like yours. Some times it's a bad thing, because you give up on important things like your dreams or bettering yourself.

But their lackluster response, to me, is better than saying something like, ''kids will be kids...''

There are too many serious problems in life, to let yourself get caught up in the petty issues that can be avoided. Learn to tell the two apart.

I wish you luck, young one.

[–]Trpidation0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Stuff like this only makes you tougher in the long run. That's something I try to tell myself regularly when shit goes down: shitty stuff happens to make you stronger. If you frame it as a test and as a way to better yourself, hard things begin to be a fun challenge rather than something that just fuckin sucks.

Props for being 17 and being RP by the way, I was a vagina at your age. Learn RP shit and take it to your core. If you fully incorporate the ideology no matter what happens, you'll grow up to be more of a man than the majority of males on this planet. Keep it up, don't let hard shit get to you. Know that you'll come out on top in the end.

Part of this is just me talking to my former self, so ignore what doesn't apply to you. I wish I had known about TRP back when I was your age.

[–]1Sir_Distic0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

That sucks. The people in your life you most needed to show concern didn't.

Take a good hard look at 3 things, starting right this second, first: yourself. Are you the person you want to be? Are you willing to work to get there? Second: look at your friends, are they really your friends or just people you hang out with? Dump them if they aren't the people you want on your life. Third: girlfriend. Same thing. Is she what you want and deserve? If not walk away. Don't confront them. That will make them defensive. Just walk away from them. Cut them out if your life.

Always take care of yourself and become better every day. Also there's no better feeling then cutting toxic people out of your life. You want friends who are more like you. In this case actually giving a shit if you almost got your ass kicked by a gang of people. The same thing you'd do/feel if the roles were reversed.

[–]Assassin14760 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The world is an ugly place my young sir. Make sure you expose yourself to it as much as you can so you can save yourself a lot of future suffering and heart ache. You don't want to be one of the guys on here who starts discovering this painful truth when he's in his late twenties or thirties.

[–]Dr_HoaxArthurWilmoth0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

"I ended the phone call and called my "Best mates" Two said they were about to go to gym so they couldn't say or do anything."

Those are the two you need to hang out with. Leave behind childish things and start improving. You made it out of there unscathed and stood up for your brother, that's what you're supposed to do.

Remember, the best revenge is self improvement and no one ever really wins in a fight. There is always someone bigger and badder, there are people who never stop wanting to fight you even if you beat their ass. Remove yourself from a situation where you can potentially get the living shit beat out you by a group of people.

[–]foldpak1110 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's important that you drop everyone in your life that doesn't treat you properly, even family. Mine wasn't very good to me, so I went searching for another one. That was at age 17. I drifted for a while and have made some connections here in Portland. Surround yourself with young, aspiring entrepreneurs. These people see the deeper implications of life and want to build something with like-minded individuals. THESE are the people you need to find and it isn't easy. I took me four years to find just a handful.

Be extremely social. How I got the connections was taking up a customer service job. There are people out there who actually care about other human beings, you just have to find them.

[–]slutnip0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

As they were having their part, throwing our boards and surrounding us, it came up that my mate knew a friend of theirs that died, out of mutual respect for their friend they decided to leave us alone.

[–]DoNotEatTheTail0 points1 point2 points 11 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I teach people your age. The majority of TRP may disagree with me here, but I find that males your age still typically need a bit of emotional support to be able to understand the whole truth of these kind of situations.

On the flip side, you're absolutely right. There are no saviors. This truth really hurts, especially when you have to experience it the way you have. I didn't realize what you understand now until my late 20s. But you can take solace in the fact that you DO have experience in how to function with lack of support, and learn more about yourself from this situation.

This is a hard one to deal with.

When you need some consolation, or some support, or something, you don't really know what it is. People rarely will realize that you need that and thus rarely give a shit.

First response I had to it was yours. Don't count on anyone. Refuse to give anything. Its not a bad response, mainly because it teaches you what you need for the next response.

If you stick to the first one, you will notice relationships will suffer. They need to be nurtured, and no give and take makes them wither.

So response 2 is to enforce your needs being met. You love everyone in your life, but everyone has a role. You give, you're smart so you understand what they can't, that when they need something they need it. And you enforce it by being direct about what you need and restricting provisions for bad behavior. You don't call them out, not unless they are blatantly careless.

For example, and this is simple, everyone around me smokes. They are also all broke. I have cigarettes. If someone gets snippy at me for asking them for something, its cool, I don't say anything, but when they ask me for a smoke I tell them no, I'm not a vending machine, you need to get your own damn smokes.

The next day, they will have their own. And toward the end of the day, when they know their smokes are running out, they will do just about anything I ask in anticipation of that.

Simple, basic example. But it holds true for just about any need you have.

Surprise! No one gives a shit about you except for you and that's the way it will be to the day you die.

Your emotions take last place, you are only as good as what you have to offer.

You sound like a bitch. Nothing even happened.

It's on YOU to hold your ground. You either give up the territory or you get your own gang and armed up enough you near-murder them the next time they try it.

That's the way of the world. You can't be a man and fail to hold your territory. Advertising you failed to hold your territory is additional failure.

Going into the gang life isn't usually the way to a successful life

depends what gang you're in - US military, Russian police, world bankers... they are all armed to the teeth and holding their territory.

Fuck your "best mates". Fuck'em hard. For those park punks I would take a baseball bat next time you go skating. The first guy who says shit you smack his knees out. The next guy who says shit you smack their heads in. Tell them your on meds for ultra violent behaviors. That should keep these faggot skaters at bay.

Good story.

It would be even better if your spelling didn't drive me crazy... Here's a short guide.

There (place): Over there. There is/are ...

Their (possession): Their shoes. Their names.

They're = They are: They're crazy. They're going to the store.

Your (possession): Your shoes. Your name.

You're = You are: You're crazy. You're going to the store. You're a better speller now.
