Since computers are very good at sorting through millions of pieces of data, they are ideal vehicles for finding elusive matches. If a woman has fifty deal-breakers, a computer can sort through every male profile on the continent to find every guy who passes all of them. But there are problems:

1) The guy with all those attributes may not exist. 2) Guys are wise to the game and lie about their attributes (just like women do). 3) The things she wants are exactly the same as what every other woman wants, and the demand is far greater than the supply. 4) Any guy with all those attributes can choose between a hundred woman who aren't her. 5) The [paradox of choice](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Paradox_of_Choice) dictates that she find it hard to settle for any one guy no matter how good he is. 6) If she does "settle" she will forever wonder if she could have done better.

Given the different ways men and women pair off, she's asking for the impossible. Men have to cast their nets wide, so any woman of even average attractiveness as a mate/date is going to be inundated with offers... nearly all of which will be unattractive to her. Because of the sheer volume of attempts a man has to make to get even a few nibbles on the line, there simply isn't time to invest a lot of personalized effort into any one of them... and she is just one of many women that each man is approaching. She wants to skip to the end, wherein her soulmate has found her before he even knows her, and all her non-soulmates self-eliminate before the first swipe.

As someone mentioned yesterday, this is why our ancestors arranged marriages for their children.
