TLDR: Her dream was apparently to always be a traditional housewife with kids and a home and a husband. However, at age 37 with none of these things, it is only now dawning on her that her life has been a colossal failure. But look on the bright side; she a best friend that she would never in a million years consider for impregnation / romance, she purports to care about others, and sometimes her hair looks nice. So yay her!

Aside from the obvious bait that she is just posting on Reddit for validation, it would at first seem like she is finally learning that her choices in her teens and 20's have dictated how her life would unfold in her 30's onward. But then she mentions her "best friend". It's like she is drowning in the ocean, and God sends her a lifeboat, "but like eww, it's the wrong color and not nearly cute enough so I will let that one pass me by. Why won't God send me a good lifeboat so my life can be saved?"

The thing is, none of these things that I want are guaranteed to ever occur in my life. And, if I do get married, have children and buy a house, I could lose any one of those things at any time.

I don't get these people who want to pursue their career but then kick everything else out of the way. Then when they wake up one day 10 years later, look at their friends and family who are happy despite their circumstances, be it living in a smaller house, driving a second hand car or not having those fabulous get always.

Then they get all sad and worried that they would not find the same happiness because to them their careers where a better choice, at the time.

It's like they purposefully choose a career that they don't really like but will make them rich/wealthy and get them all the confirmation they need by their peers. Maybe they'll find some one along the way. (They don't). Okay let's try dating (all the men are below my pay grade, education level or are not interesting). It will get better if I climb up further!

You can't take it with you, and it's not your purpose in life to leave an immaculate corpse behind, its all the same once it's in the incinerator or coffin anyway.

These types of people only have themselves to blame for their lack of happiness. Nothing and no one ever stopped them from finding love and relationships. It just annoys me that they go onto Reddit and cry about it knowing no one can really and truly help them. They just do it to get more confirmation to try and boost their already fragile or broken ego.
