What just shooms over her head is, the man is paying for the date, the date is an investment in forging a romantic relationship. The man is just trying to be thrifty spend as little on the date that has a reasonable chance of achieving the goal.

The reason why the upper ranked girls aren’t getting chicken wings at a sports bar isn’t because he wants to spend extra money on them. He just knows it won’t put him in competition for a romantic relationship with other potential suitors.

The superficial monetary nature of the dating here is driven by the women, not the man. So any “personal depth character” value you might have had is certainly absent.

This is a minor point in comparison to the overall retardation contained in the article, but: anyone else annoyed that a supposedly major blemish on his character was the calling his mother about the shirt thing? I mean, I agree it’s kind of dumb, but he’s A FUCKING WALLSTREET BANKER ... I think that demonstrates he has the tools to make decisions in his life and successfully live on his own.
