I know that exact feeling. When I was a young buck, I was pudgy and awkward. I didn't get laid until I was 18 years old.

Then, as I got out in the world, learned what things I valued and started investing time and energy into those pursuits, I became my own man. I never really had positive parental influence or role models, so early on as an adult, it was awkward when I started looking up to guys who I saw as leaders.

This was in the military, so it kind of benefited me to have a ton of respect and admiration for the guys who had been around, and really knew how to treat their people (and I don't mean just sucking up to their own subordinates)... Like the ones who knew how to be heavy handed when they needed to, and when to be fair and laid back.

Respecting these guys, and learning from my mistakes, when they had to get heavy handed with me because I did something stupid, really taught me about leadership, respect, and responsibility.

To the point I could easily spot an idiot with bars who shouldn't be in that position, because they were just power hungry morons and NOT leaders.

This started to transform me from that awkward kid who had no real guidance and direction in life, to a man who knew how to be a man and how to take care of shit.

I eventually found myself leading my own people, and I applied the lessons I learned from my mentors, to where my guys not only respected me, but would crawl through a mile of broken glass if only I asked them to, and would be volunteering to do it.

Well..... I started getting that attention I never had a great deal of from the opposite sex. Suddenly I was being chased a lot.

At first I enjoyed it and took advantage of it, but I was not an idiot. I learned from my mentors as well, why women chase guys in my position. So I played it smart and just had fun as safe as possible.

Then I got out and figured it would all fade away, but it really didn't.

So I tried my hand at some LTRs, that at first seemed good, but ultimately they ended with bullshit, leading up to me finding my MGTOW path after years of wasting my time.

The lessons I learned from all of it, was that women really and truly do see men as a utility. To fulfill some need they have -physical, financial, help her solve all of her problems. And then, when they have had their needs met, and find something more entertaining, they bounce like it never happened.

You see, I actually believe that men can be "sapiosexual". I know some disagree with the word...But if I had to find a word to describe myself in terms of relationships, that would be it.

I was always attracted to deep and meaningful intelligent conversation. If a woman could stimulate me intellectually, I would lose most physical standards. I had this deep desire to connect with someone emotionally and build a strong bond of two intellects working in unison to maximize their shared potential in life.

To me, that was my "unicorn". That was my idea of love.

Of course I never found it, even when I thought I might have. Every single one I let into my life turned out to be manipulating and using me for their needs, and then when I expected some level of cooperation, they'd reveal their true colors.

I tried damn near a dozen "serious" relationships, some lasting a few months, others upwards of 4 years.

It was always the same... pretending to care about what I found valuable, so they could either have their sexual needs fulfilled, sense of security, financial needs, "status", or being the "leadership figure" that helped them unfuck their lives.

But every time they got what they wanted, and were "comfortable", they would start showing the same fucking signs, and they'd be branching out to have other needs met elsewhere.

That's when I started to understand just how shallow, and surface level it all was. When I started to realize that what I was looking for, that deep and meaningful mutual respect and admiration, between two intellectually oriented people, simply was a farce. It was a lie. It wasn't real and never would be.

Everything was just seeing some dude who had his shit together, and taking that as a gigantic advertising bulletin screaming at them to come and lure him in for a fake and one way relationship.

Some only wanted my "fix their problems", but wanted nothing physical or intimate, while others only wanted my dick but nothing emotional or intellectual. Some even turned out to just see a resource to have a kid and milk the provider role, and tried damned hard to get it.

So that whole idea I had about love, where two people could "fall in love", was shattered. It 's not real.

Everything in our modern life, and honestly I am beginning to believe, really and truly, that in our whole human history...is just about using the other person.

And that fucking disgusted me so much,on such a deep and primal level, that I had no other option but go 100% monk. Like, it really left me with literally no choice. I get physically sick to my stomach, and irrationally angry, when I see it playing out.

I still visit breweries, because I like the atmosphere. I tend to go in the early evening, when the college kids aren't there yet. There have been times the crowds started rolling in, only for me to find myself being eyeballed by some cunt.

They always do the same shit. Puppydog eyes, stolen glances, and eventually trying to strike up some conversation.

These days, a literal 10/10 physically doesn't even phase me. In fact, the more physically attractive are, the more put off I am by that whole exchange, because I consciously realize they KNOW they're hot, and can usually get what they want, which reinforces for me that they're just trying to get something out of me, like all of those ones I allowed in before.

So now, I'll just shut them down, quick and easy with a sharp, "not interested" and then leave.

Our entire social fabric is fucked. Relationships are the most disgusting they've ever been in human history, with things like social media, smartphone culture, and hookup culture...it has devolved into a blood orgy of "manipulate others for maximum personal gain, through fakeness and playing a part, and then destroy them when you get what you want, setting everything on fire on your way out".

No thanks.
