Though I do appreciate a good post about self improvement, this is too PUA-ish for my taste. The whole post is focused on the female imperative.

The whole thing that annoys me about the PUA self improvement is the fact that you do this to be liked. You are still placing the opinions of others and especially women's above yourself.

You can't teach someone to be attractive. It has to come from his own beliefs. And that's why I believe that:

Attractive men are authentic. They don’t change themselves so that others will like them.

is the most important thing to take from this.

This is weak.

I know a ton of attractive guys who don't fit any of these things.

Be a musician or an athlete or a bartender and you don't need any of these traits.

Attractive men are present and have fun

This should be one of the biggest things to work on, as it is by far the hardest to get your mind into the present. Our brains like to wonder around into the past, future, or daydream about dumb shit.

Doing things such as mindful meditation every day, and consciously trying to be in the now during conversation will go long way in your interactions.

The Charisma Myth by Olivia Fox Cabane has some great tips on keeping in the present.

Focusing on the sounds around you (or focusing on what's being said by the person you're talking to) and by trying to feel the sensation in your toes.

I have always understood "being attractive" isnt just about looks but about a persons ability to attract people.
