I recently lost my fire arm "virginity." I must say it's one of the most impressive things I've done in my life. I shot a revolver, AK47 and a sniper rifle. In the first two I actually got complimented by my score for someone shooting for the first time in his life. The sniper I totally screwed up. I think because I didn't understand the working of the scope. I didn't even hit the freaking target! The recoil of all weapons I found were not that bad but I underestimated the noise. Granted: it was an indoor shooting range but still, I found the blast noise so deafening. And indeed: it has got nothing to do with the sounds you hear in the movies.

Worked with a dude who's fiance' wouldn't allow him to keep his guns in the house. He literally had to keep them at a friends and pick them up to go shooting.

I lost touch with him and just found out he recently died in a car crash. Was extremely proud to hear he didn't go through with the marriage.

Wish I could come to the range with you. In Australia, our gun laws are very strict and there are no semi or full auto allowed, pump action also banned. Nothing over .48 either.
