I'll try keep this short, but I wanted to know if others here have had similar issues;

Been working in a prominent, female dominated charity in New Zealand for almost a year, and my 12 month contract is about to come to an end. I could have sucked up to my cunt of a boss more, but I wouldn't have lived with myself.

I'm being replaced by the (female, obviously) intern, this I don't care about at all. What I do care about is the field I want to get into, policy and politics in general, is now entirely female dominated. A recent internship I considered going for was 80% female - New Zealand as a whole is generally unbelievably anti-male, often openly and to their faces. I have some great experience in political parties, and a relevant degree, but a Masters looks like it may be on the cards.

So in short - has anybody else come across the issue that their job applications were shot down simply by virtue of their gender, and how did they get round it?
