Get rid of debt. Debt is slavery. Money = freedom of choice. It's not too much debt fortunately though I suggest you pay it off more quickly. Not worrying about that shit reduces stress.

Advice on being an officer.

dont suck up the O-level Elitist stuff, just pretend to.
pay attention to what the Master Sargent or Chief Petty Officer tells you.
Stay humble and invariably exibit human decency to the enlisted guys and theyll work for you as a team.
dont volunteer them for BS to look good.
never trust an ass kisser.

You are free and good for now.

Do NOT under any circumstances get married while in the military....It is notorious for Thot marrying around military bases just for the paycheck and still riding the cock carousel.

Stay single, stay out of debt, save money, travel and use pay for play (don't forget to wrap it) if you need to, do NOT knock any chick up and get some skills in the military you can use once you retire/leave.

Have fun and enjoy life, you are young, free and now most important found MGTOW at a young age. It might just have saved your life.

PS - Don't ever get so depressed you don't know where to turn. Come here and read read read and see you have friends and bro's here with much bigger issues that you could have. (divorce rape, child support/kidnapping, etc.)

9K is nothing for debt and you’re young so you can easily knock that out by 25. I eliminated 32k in school/car debt by 27 when I started working around 22 to give you an idea how quick you can knock out your smaller sum in time.

As others have said, the debt isn't bad, but it's key. Pay it off as quickly as possible. It doesn't make sense to maintain a bank account at a lower interest rate than your debt. While you are free and your expenses are low, throw money at that debt. You're a mathematician, so you know what knocking down the principal is going to do to a long-term loan.

Start saving for retirement. Get an IRA going early. Even if you get modest returns, it can build up over time

You're going to have a decision to make when your first enlistment is close to up. At that time, take a very sober and unbiased look at the situation. Do you see a future in the military, or are there more opportunities in civilian life? After your first enlistment, you can still make a good life in the civilian world (I did). On the other hand, if you put in a couple of enlistments then decide to leave before you're eligible for retirement, you could be putting yourself into a time crunch.

You're in a good place, so as long as you act in a logical manner, you'll be fine.
