That’s the fight. That’s the fight most men lose.

Some people shot themselves in the middle of this mission, parenthood. It is though but when you create something, you are responsible. This is why I am not even married. I am not ready to take this responsibility. People must check themselves 100 times before creating another human being. It is a challenging job to do.

I have 4 children and am divorced from a vindictive bitch. Now that 3 of them have grown into fine young men and women, I see that it is worth the struggle.
Someone once told me that when you have children, you have the chance to re-raise yourself.
It’s worth the struggle.

I feel that right now. I see all the things I hated about myself coming up and I have to work and fight to correct it before it fvxks up my kids. It's worth the fight but it's tough. Much respect to this man and his struggles. I am right there with yah!

I know it. Just take it one day and one lesson at a time with your kids. And you are not alone brother. We all have weaknesses that we are working to strengthen.

No one is ready regardless of their self assessment. You are creating an intelligent, self-aware being who will expose your own faults back on you. Either by copying your behavior that you dislike or during a conversation or argument.

And to believe that this right here is what they label as toxic masculinity. The male will-power to not give up and actually do what must be done for the sake of others.

[–]coagulated_cumquats6 points7 points8 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Go out and shoot some targets, use a chainsaw, ride some trails on a 2 stroke, go to a batting cage, hire a jet-ski - get the testosterone flowing, pretty hard to feel depressed when you are pumped and saying 'fuck yeah'

Lifting heavy weight and becoming obsessed with doing it right really helped me.
Became hard to focus on all the shitty things happening when I was/am hitting the gym 6 days a week, obsessing over calories/macros, and checking out new exercises to add to the routine.
Hope you feel better soon, man.

You've got to get it in your head that failure is not an option. Some days you are going to have to go through the motions, dying inside. After a while the feeling of success helps keep the depression down. But really, you've got to make yourself accept that you havent lost the battle yet and that you arent going to this time either, pretty much that on repeat. It's tough but you just have to suck it up and get it done. Try to find at least one person you can vent to and share your frustrations. Good luck man. We're going to need it.
Also, you are going to fuck up. You just have to accept that it isnt the end of the world. Quitting is the end of the world and you are better than that.

if this was a woman, she'd be on instagram or SM whining about how men are shit and how the world owes he sorry ass everything while ignoring the feelings and needs of the child.
I really don't wanna come off as some scorned, bitter dude here but 99% of women in the modern world under age 60 are subhuman garbage that serve no purpose in our society other than a vessel to grow and birth our children.
Hopefully soon, technology in several areas will render women useless and obsolete for the only things they are good at, using their genetics as going "half" (lol what a joke as if women do anything besides literally carrying the baby and giving birth) and the actual function of childbirth.
Soon ,males will be able to create our own child with our genetics alone and won't need women as an incubator as we will have robotics that can and will do it more efficiently and much safer.

So,,, you still need women? If you just stop letting the embryos become women wouldnt yall run out, anyway this sounds fake and im talkin hypotheticals regardless
[–]artographic1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Possibly you could just use the eggs of others on supply, or create some phenotype from your own cells. That would be cloning sort of though.
[–]Fuckalldabitches1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
The supply would run out w no women. We tryna do a handmaids tale type thing now?
[–]artographic0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I think what might end up happening is like how some women were used as artificial wombs in the novel dune. If the woman died her body could be donated and used as an artificial womb. Its like it you die your organs can be donated. Of course the family would have to give the permission for it but still that is an option. I dont know how that would work logically. But who knowsm
[–]Fuckalldabitches0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
It wouldnt
[–]MyFatThumb0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Ectogenisis (the external womb) is 3 to 8 years away from human use. It's already in use with lambs. The West will have the usual ethical problems at first, although it will be acceptable primarily for premature births, then abortion avoidance and later relieving those poor woman executives from months off work and finally it will just be cheaper for hospitals and less dangerous for women. Other less ethical far eastern countries will go straight to work on advancing the procedure and we can copy it when they perfect it. Embryos can be produced from stem cells and soon from skin cells. 2 straight guys could have a baby within a few decades. It's unlikely that cloning, or making an embryo from just one person will be allowed for the same reason that incest is dangerous, genetically speaking.
[–]Fuckalldabitches0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Arent the lambs still dying soon after “birth”
[–]MyFatThumb0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I don't know and it doesn't sound like you do either, but if it is planned 3-8 years for humans I guess they are on track. You're not thinking of Dolly the cloned sheep from 1996 are you?
I've checked and can't find anything about lambs dying after they are born using external wombs. Dolly the cloned sheep lived for 7 years, I think you're confused about cloning and ectogenesis. It's coming soon and I'm surprised the debating hasn't started yet. This will replace the primary purpose of women, childbirth. Its a massive change to humanity.

Maybe he is honorable, maybe he isn’t, but he needs to nip his depression in the bud now before he sets the precedent to his daughter to wallow in her pity and not do anything about it.
[–]0signal011 points12 points13 points 4 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Depressed people are not sad. Depressed people don't feel anything, which is why they idealize suicide and are not afraid of it.

[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 4 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
For alot of people, depression is the natural way of being to them. For alot of people, depression is a lifelong mindset that they grow accustomed too and never overcome. Only very few people will ever overcome their depression and even then i question if they ever overcame it or they've just learned to rationalise it in a different way.
Maybe all of that is true. I think a lot of people just wallow in their victim hood. I think it sucks if you’re depressed but taking a bunch of shitty pills is probably a piss poor solution for most people.

If this were a woman she'd leave the family under the excuse of "finding herself" which is a code for "I wanna whore around" and then 10 years later she'd try to get back and take dad's custody away.

I'll tell you what worked for my depression. I'm not super into homeopathy, but I deeply respect the work of Oppenheimer which he used to cure his own cancer. What he determined was our entire bodies are comprised of vitamins and minerals and any problem that arises is a result of a deficiency in them. Taking this I looked up what vitamin deficiencies cause depression and went on a regiment of them. A week later no depression.
Every friend I've told this to has reported even if their life is crummy no depression or their depression is way easier to manage.
Primary Vitamins: Daily for Men (has most of them), B-Complex, Magnesium, Iron, Folic Acid, omega 3.
Here's a starter link to make sure your adding every one.
We're more than our bodies, but we're still our bodies. Our bodies are bio-machines. Feed the machine.

Interesting. Saved your comment for later reference. I have always had a terrible diet, so I will do what you suggested and see how that works out.
[–]Nevek_Green0 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I'm poor, so I understand poor diet and can give you some practical advice. Here's what I discovered, get a nutribullet and go to a super store or regular store and get frozen fruits out of the freezer section. They even have premade smoothie mixes.
Add one of these to a meal a day. You don't even have to replace a meal entirely, though if you increase your portion size you can. Just do this every day and you'll find yourself craving fruits and vegetables as your system clears out the junk that makes you crave junk food. Yeah nutritional science says junk food is somewhat addictive.
Then just gradually rotate in fruits, vegetables, and go for a diet heavy in protein and you can kick a terrible diet without a few months and if you're working out bulk up. Total Gyms are a good investment, especially if you health issues like me, or if you aren't in the greatest of shape.
Hope that helps. You can do it, you might have to trick your body along the way, but everyone has the potential.

This time of the year suicide numbers skyrocket...
[–]Roary930 points1 point2 points 4 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep, because father's want to spend some time with their kids but the mother wants the kid all to themselves and selfishly denies the kid that right, so don't see much point anymore
You gotta fight. Never quit the battle - do it however you can, depressed, angry or drunk - your kids will be happy to hug you when they’re older when they truly know the loss and sacrifices you made. Keep on keepin on brothers - fuck them

Having multiple sexual partners is correlated to depression in men. Sexual morality promotes mental health and it can be comprehensively explained from a nonreligious perspective.
I don't care for your fucking pleasure. Promiscuous behaviour and an insatiable sexual desire indicates daddy issues.
