In all fairness, I did play against women in high school. I will say that chess is as egalitarian as they come. Same boards, clocks, chess pieces, no gender categories, etc. I never lost against a girl although I did come pretty close once. My point being, being more egalitarian, I'm surprised that not that many girls play chess. Perhaps they don't want to deal with nerds.

What women and these academics don’t understand is that the average man is not smarter than average women but there are a small amount of man that are just insane. They are super smart and can dedicate an insane time to anything. That is why most of the ceo’s and best athletes of non physical sports are still man. Nothing stop a women for be the best player of chess or gaming nut until they can practice 16 hours a day like some man do they will never do it.
