Dear ladies: if you’re gonna fight for the right to join combat arms branches in the military but won’t address the fact that you have your own separate, and significantly easier physical fitness standards, no male soldier is ever going to take you serious. This is just physical proof women live life on easy mode. You wanna contribute? I have no problem with that. Just do so away from the front lines.

I’m 5,11”, 220 lbs and I lift almost daily. Doing buddy carries and drags of other guys my size is not easy. Add another 50 lbs of gear and ammo and you got yourself a genuine challenge.

Currently have 5 females in my Company with one in a high leadership position. NOT ONE can pass the current PT test.

FYI, the new test is age and gender neutral.

It basically says "everyone needs to be strong enough to do basic shit like pick up heavy boxes, climb out of a ditch, and drag an injured comrade back to safety".

Kinda want everyone to be able to do those things .

If you cannot pass a fitness test then you shouldn't be allowed in the army as peoples lives are at serious risk and there should never be a compromise on this (regardless of gender) but women want in like playing soldier, police officer, fire fighter etc is a game without any consequences.

I personally don't think they take these jobs seriously but more as something to brag about like "women can do it too!".

Did anyone read the article, rhe writer is a male feminist, it ridiculous that he thinks the test is sexist. His whole "but post pregnancy, how is this fair" on the abdominal leg ups is a bit ridiculous as the current APFT has the same standards as the males for sit ups, the only area the standards are the same....

I love the new test, it is a logistical nightmare for units, but I think it give a better level of fitness assessments. The current APFT is only loved by those that love its ease of testing, it is not an accurate fitness assessment like the new test.

As if that would ever change. I will never forget how smug the girls in my class were after passing the cooper test with better grades than me, back then an active basketball amateur.

Thing is, I had to run two laps more than them, had to throw a ball that is three times as heavy, had to jump further and sprint faster than them to get a worse grade... You go girl, you beat me fairly and deserved the better grade. Not.

You'd need good core strength for those leg tucks. I admit I couldn't really do them but then again I'm not a combat solider. I do agree though that training equipment should be more readily available though for people who are going to take the test.

Yeah I’ve been out here watching the other companies in my battalion take the test. We have all guys in my company but the other ones have females and they all suck shit at this new one it’s ridiculous to watch.

Finally took a detailed look of the slide.

The numbers are rigged. There's no way they add up. In most tests the women have lower failure rates than the men, except for the leg tuck where 72% of the women failed.

The only explanation is that they hand picked the best female soldiers, but the results were still underwhelming.

11% of men failed the 2 mile run, while only 6% of women did. Apparently women are faster than men.

2% of men failed the deadlift, while 4% of women did. Again, not a chance.

In a 1982 study only 1% of female soldiers were able to deadlift 110lbs, while 68% of male soldiers could.

The 1982 data indicate an average lifting capacity for women soldiers of 66 pounds, versus 119 for men (80 percent higher). The difference in lifting capacity is especially critical at around 100–120 pounds. An Air Force test for lifting 110 pounds was passed by 68 percent of men and 1 percent of women.

The standards to pass are pretty fucking easy. Now, I can see the females struggling to pass the HEAVY category ( infantry, SF, armor, etc), especially the deadlift, new pushups (quite difficult compared to standard pushups) and leg tucks.

You know what? Fuck ‘em. You wanted equality; here it is.
