I validate transgenderism and dysphoria as a legitimate thing (no matter how edgy a few alt-righters can get at times) though unless you're counting intersex, there's only two genders. The non-binary people and those who make up new identities scream special snowflake.

Male and female are biological terms. Not all mammals are either male or female (cf intersex), and the exact categorisation depends on definition (chromosomes, sex organs, gonads), but for most individuals, their sex is unambiguous.

"Man" means "male human". "Woman" means "female human".

Masculinity and femininity have only to do with sex statistically. Many men act masculine, many women act feminine. A man that acts feminine doesn't become a woman. A woman can act masculine at certain times and feminine at other times. A good example is Clarence/Clarice Bell, the transvestite straight man from Boston Legal.

Gender and gender identity are terms intentionally made up to confuse normal people. They don't even have proper, non-circular definitions ("a man is someone who identifies as a man")! Clearly, if that wasn't the primary intention, they wouldn't reuse existing words but create new ones.

Some people feel uncomfortable in their bodies - e.g. phantom limbs. Some feel uncomfortable about their sex and want to change/mutilate their bodies. This mental illness is best treated by surgically modifying the person's body to best suit their wishes.

It can't be denied that gender fluidity is an actual part of the human cultural dynamic.

The reason this can't be denied is because it has been documented time and again in various places almost all the way back to the beginnings of human culture.

What can be argued are issues such as: Why is it a part of the dynamic? Is it innate or cultural or something else? If innate, is it sexual or psychological or something else? Is it normal/healthy or abnormal/unhealthy? What are the consequences of embracing it or suppressing it?

Another aspect of gender fluidity that can't be denied is it's consistent use as a marker. It almost always becomes a verifiable cultural presence in societies that have achieved unrivaled power and wealth, near or shortly after the period they achieve their unrivaled power and wealth. It is also, and most concerning, the last major cultural facet to emerge before that society completely implodes or is completely annihilated.

Biologically speaking, there are females and males, and most females identify as woman, and most males identify as man. There are the odd cases of hermaphrodites/ambiguous genitalia/serious hormonal- or genetic issues but in theory, humans come in only two flavours with regards to sex: male and female. To me, gender identity is something separate from biological sex and from sexual orientation, although most males feel man and are attracted to women and most females feel woman and are attracted to men. I would like to know how someone comes to six genders and six sexualities. Why not five, 11, or 143? I think studies show that people who truly identify as transsexual and/or transgender are a very small minority; at least they used to be before all these trans-trenders appeared on Tumblr etc. It seems it's more accepted now to openly talk about gender dysphoria/confusion but I'd be curious to see how many of the 12-25 year olds now who identify as a gender that is different from the one that generally matches the sex they are, still identify as they do now, ten years from now. Gender dysphoria can dissipate, people can learn to accept it/deal with it, and the small number of people for whom it's a persistent problem that is so serious it needs treatment, I have no problem paying for their health care to transition.

There are some legal differences between men and women but some countries are now trying to 'sort that out'. I think it's useful to have sex categories because I am only attracted to males who identify as man, so with regards to on-line dating, I wouldn't want to trawl through all profiles of all members of a site because the women are of no interest to me.

I think TRP philosophy presupposes the two main genders, masculine and feminine. These are the primary genders because of brute biology. TRP recognises that feminine desire is different to masculine desire, this can be accounted for in brute biology with a dash of evolutionary psychology thrown in. All the concepts contained in the glossary on the sidebar can be reductively explained with the biology and the evolutionary psychology. Anything else is a blue pill fantasy.

Now I'll be more controversial and speculate on what I know very little about which is transgenderism. Trans-women (born male) prefer to live as the objects of masculine desire and so wear make up, shit test people they fancy etcetera. The converse would hold for trans-men (born female), who prefer instead to live as the objects of feminine desire - they will accordingly practice game, hold frame etcetera.

That covers four genders - cis/trans male/female. I'm guessing non-binary is another, which could be someone that will switch between masc/fem from day to day, month to month or year by year?

And the sixth is people who aren't interested in any of this shit?

Don't care what people identify as, what they do, who they like, I'm bisexual myself, but I do firmly believe it shouldn't have such an involvement in the workplace, politics. It just doesn't matter. I actually believe progressiveness harms vulnerable people in certain communities.

Remember goth? Remember emo? Kids who didn't get enough attention, gathering around in (in some cases internet) groups to get attention. Same thing happening now, just this time the Internet is a lot bigger and "adults" are sensitive as fuck. Let's just hope this all multiple gender thing gets lost in history like it should be.
