Tl;dr I know this runs the risk of becoming a giant circle jerk about religion, so re-read this when you’re done – I’m just blowing the conch shell, wondering if likeminded people will hear it and respond. Please respect the tone of this post in your responses: I am wondering if there is anyone else out there who has swallowed the red pill and follows Jesus?

So Hey, first post here. Let me introduce myself by saying I have been reading TRP for about a year now. When I first came to the site I was intrigued by the sidebar and realized that it (and a lot of great posts) contained some spot-on truth as applies to this crazy society. It was eye-opening and helped me really evaluate my BP upbringing and behavior. I’m rarely online or involved in social media but every few months I would pop back in here and can honestly say that I’ve benefited from being reminded of/applying TRP.

A little about me: I grew up as BP as it gets, played video games all day – Father was home but we never talked (typical conservative christian home where sex is just the worst subject possible to talk about), was convinced that if I was just nice to girls they would eventually see “how great” I was or whatever. Thankfully I have a pretty good metabolism and am tall, maybe a 6 or 7 SMV but I was more skinny and wiry than athletic as a kid, and a terrible dresser. I met my wife in college and she stuck with me even though I had no idea how to assert any masculinity at all. I think what helped was that she literally grew up in isolation in a foreign country, almost completely unpolluted by 3rd wave feminism, and we got married really young. We still had an awful, awful first year or two of marriage (looking back I made all the BP mistakes over and over and over again), but things have gotten progressively better over the years (we’re up to 11 now) as I’ve slowly learned on my own how to be a man, how IDGAF works, and (thanks to RP) the causes and effects of certain behavior (both mine and hers).

So what hooked me in the beginning about TRP: I have noticed how some core aspects of TRP line up with Biblical truth, which is why I believe it rings so true.

I’m not really here to preach/convert anyone to my religion. I’m not interesting in causing hate/anger/division here, but I have noticed how many churches and Christian circles have swallowed the BP and cling to it hard (I think a lot of it is fear of what society will say, similar to most of my BP motives). It’s getting frustrating to lead my family spiritually because I find it a waste of time to run in the same circles as people I can’t respect.

I believe that if I stop leading (spiritually but this also applies to other RP truths) then my wife and family will stop following. Is there anyone else reading TRP that can echo these thoughts? Have you come up with any solutions?
