I thought about this, because a lot of the guys I knew growing up are now married, only one isn’t. I get lonely a lot but then I forget that I can do whatever I want lol

Listen, I lost all my money from my divorce. Go your own way and leave dating behind. I will never be able to retire. I pray for death every night and morning. I think you are doing well, but I just want to remind you that if you are ever feeling lonely, remember that your married friends could be feeling just as lonely inside, only they just might get divorced and lose everything they ever worked for. If you’re single, you’re safe.

You pray for death?
[–]john212320 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Each and every night and morning. I keep myself as busy as possible to avoid the thoughts, but yes. I fear I will never really be happy again.
[–]Whitey983 points4 points5 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
May I inquire? Because of the divorce and aftermath? No need to answer just don’t understand

Yes. My wife left me. Now she’s sleeping around with guys at her work. I loved my life with her and who I thought she was. The pain of the loss is horrible. I’m also in more debt than I’ve ever been in my life. She was just using me for my money all this time, and I’m far from wealthy. I had a fiancé before her who did the same thing to me. My wife seemed like a NAWALT, always being sweet, paying for things. Eventually, she got worse and worse, then seemed to be getting way better then BAM divorce. On Jan 1st, she told me her New Years resolution is to be extra sweet to me. She was. It was wonderful. Two weeks later, divorce. Maybe it would have hurt less without those last two great weeks. Who knows. All I know is, I have wasted my life on women, and I have nothing to show for it or to look forward to. I see my nieces and nephews as often as I can, as I know I will never have kids of my own, but it’s like a distraction from the pain. I was married for 9 years. Many of those days were amazing, but now that it’s all over, I don’t want to be alive anymore. I’m done with life. Everything is either boring or painful. I won’t kill myself because my family would be hurt, but I would love to die. I pray you never end up like me. Take care.

Buy a dog
Edit: get a dog.
[–]mgtowisgold9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Don't buy a dog. There's plenty of dogs being given away.
[–]TheWooDzz9 points10 points11 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The hardest choices require the strongest wills. Er- actually, it’s a pretty easy choice!
[–][deleted]1 point2 points3 points 7 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
For some. But I personally want children. Only it is too risky and learning from other people's experiences you will not see them anyway just pay for them....
[–]ElOweTea2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link

I remember when I was 27 working in a manufacturing maintenance with 40 to 50 year old men, who were like second uncles and fathers to me. I would tell them I will never get married and they would say I'm a smart man.
[–]justiceavenger26 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
More like they called you a gay man for not getting married lol.
[–]cjwisoxlwcisjwnsix4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I just say sure why not and move on. People quickly stop when you actually don't care.

You know, I've been paying the mother of my kids almost half of everything I earn for almost ten years now. Her new husband was either completely unemployed or underemployed for that time. The silver lining is that I learned this lesson sooner rather than later. Got married at 19, divorced at 22 and I'll be done paying for my son at 37 and my daughter at 40. I mean, having your prime earning years and SMV essentially snuffed out is rough, but I'd Imagine having to start this process up at 40+ is probably shittier.
Nothing but sugar babies and stacks of cash from 37 on fellas..
