Never heard of it working out. Every story I’ve heard involves the woman leaving once she’s legally a citizen. Some involve her bringing a “brother” or other family member over on the American husband’s dime when that’s really her boyfriend or husband.

From friends' experiences, I've gotten the impression that in some countries, women are more reasonable. Note that I said "more" reasonable, not especially reasonable.

There's a certain amount of power that you have over someone who's on a visa from another country. So there may be an interval of imagined peace. Imagined bliss. I shacked up with a complete maniac after only a few short visits together. Moved to another country, high hopes, I believed her.

Pretty sure I know a guy with one. He’s a weird dude. Can’t make that much money. But his wife is hot, doesn’t speak a lick of English, obsessed with material things. Always has new clothes, purse, etc. Pretty sure all this dudes money goes into making her happy.
