My brother met and married his ex wife years after his military service. All his money and benefits were earned long before she came into his life. He is disabled and lives off VA. She couldn't legally get alimony from his disability, but the courts still awarded her $800 a month in child support for 1 kid, gave her the house, cars, and ALL belongings other than his clothes, some books, and his paperwork, and his entire $450,000 back pay from the VA that was in the bank. We found out that she had been secretly planning to divorce him for years but waited until he received his VA settlement first.
