As a younger man I read both the Iliad and Odyssey by Homer.

ILIAD

In my blue pill days I remember reading the Iliad with righteous indignation that Helen, the most beautiful woman in the world, was kidnapped from Sparta by Paris of Troy. And, that Menelaus her Husband had a duty to take Sparta to war with Troy to get her back, resulting in a 10 year war and thousands of good men dying in the theatre of war.

Today in my red bill days I read Iliad and think "So what, hoes gonna hoe, find another bitch and don't waste your men's lives. Plenty more wet holes in Sparta".

ODYSSEY

In my blue pill days I remember being excited and inspired how Odysseus spent 10 years after the end of the Trojan war making his way back home to his Wife out of love and loyalty. At one point he spends 7 years as the captive of Calypso, a beautiful nymph who is in love with him, and forces him to make love to her every day. Eventually she is forced to release Odysseus after the god Hermes intervenes. Odysseus then continues his journey home, and fights off a group of suitors single handed with spear and sword to win back his Wife.

Today in my red pill mind, I read Odyssey and think "You stupid idiot you should have stayed with the beautiful nymph being treated like a king for the rest of your life, and having her enthusiastically drain your balls everyday".

Gentleman, it's fascinating how your experience in life, and how you view reality, will greatly shape how you view history.
