My work colleague is trying to set me up with a 32 year old woman who never married. She’s traveled around the world multiple times like I have so apparently we’d be perfect for each other. Even when I was blue pill I’ve never understood the mentality of “you two have similar hobbies. You should totally fuck each other.”

I’m kind of stuck. I’m very uninterested in paying retail for an expired product. However, I work in a very small, tight-knit niche area. Literally everyone knows everyone else either personally or by reputation. So if I tell my colleague to get his nose out of my personal life and to fuck off it will come back to bite me. I want to be a camouflaged mgtow so I don’t damage my work prospects.

I’m 39, in good shape physically and mentally, have some money and a sports car and I travel a lot for fun so people seem to think I need a leech.

I’m considering telling my colleague that I have just begun a relationship with someone. We are trying to keep it quiet for now but I am excited about this (imaginary) woman. That’ll keep him at bay for a few months anyway.

I’d appreciate any suggestions that people could give beyond telling him to go fuck himself. I could always do that. I’ve had people trying to set me up a lot recently and I’m still trying to learn how to navigate it.

Edit: the jackass kind of painted me into a corner. He said “she’s a colleague in this small field of expertise so I think you guys should at least be acquainted if not friends.” Etc etc ad barfam
