Wait, you wouldn't get hot for steel millers? In great shape, are tough and manly, usually make some damn fine money. If I was a common woman I'd absolutely hook up with a steel worker or other tradesmen.
Oooh, I get it. Telling the girls your man is a steel worker isn't sexy enough. And what is it you do sweety? Bartender? I thought so.
[–]Londonnj62 points63 points64 points 7 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Asking the right question. I was under the impression growing up that the manual labor professions tended to be the most attractive, because of their physical shape. Mechanics, welders, construction workers and those sorts. It was literally a theme in media of the housewife getting the hots for the sweaty well toned laborer at her house. Im not sure when that changed.

50 years ago employment was a better deal, (Some) manual labor professions had a semblance of job security. One could buy a house in urban/suburban US with three times annual income, which was enough.
A woman could raise a family and live in a white picket fence house from the work of one breadwinning manual labor man, in other words. That is tougher today.
Social media encouraging fours to aim for nines is an additional problem.
[–]Londonnj6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
As a blue collar guy, I feel like I've been given a raw deal here haha. Good thing I actually enjoy my work. But you aren't wrong unless you're a union welder/electrician/plumber you probably aren't going to see that 6 figures a year needed to live like that.

The US needs to back its dollar with Gold again.
Among... other changes... (coming for you Federal Reserve)

That impression was right. There's a big difference between housewife and single thot though.
The thot's gonna look for someone who's "the one" -- meaning good job, in shape, 6ft+, 8" dick, savings account, nice car, etc...
Now compare that to a housewife. Just as hypergamous as the thot, but she already has her betabux in the stable and broken. All she cares about now are tingles. This is where the blue-collar guys who take a modicum of personal-care stand out.
The impression was right, you're just looking through the wrong lens. My guess is that this is from a dating app, not a hookup one, or she would be looking to pump and dump. But the fact she's trying to lock down someone with money hints she's most likely approaching the wall and desperate to lock something down.
[–]Londonnj4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Makes sense, once you have your financial security, you don't have to worry about those things anymore. Honestly working blue collar was one of my biggest factors into going red pill. I remember one time having a fucking Starbucks barista(not even in school) tell me "ew I don't date guys that do stuff like that". My work is something I take great pride in, it's my passion. So to hear that was a hard blow. But looking back in so glad it turn out that way. While that chick was making $8 an hour drawing smiley faces in lattes. I was rebuilding a motor, which I was quite prideful of(it was my first major rebuild) and mentioned it to her which is when she said that. Women baffle me, how anyone who does a job that takes skill could ever possibly look down on someone who knows and practices uncommon skills.

my cousin works in a steel warehouse as a welder. 25 no wife no kids. Bought himself an FRS cash last year looking at houses as we speak.

That’s about right
[+]atleast6people-8 points-7 points-6 points 7 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
FRS's are terrible and the cheaper version of a bad car model. You can find them extremely cheap.

Some steel workers make some pretty serious money tho.
[–][deleted] 81 points82 points83 points 7 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Yeah, but women don't know that. They will fawn over a guy who works behind a desk at a legal department even though the steel worker is probably making more money with less debt.

He said he works in a steel WAREHOUSE, a place that sells metal and metal products. That means he is a warehouseman, not a steel worker or welder or tradesman.

It's so funny how females will brag about people giving them free money, as being given money for existing is an actual achievement.
Here's what I brag about: staying up till 4am writing code to fix a bug.

If anyone ever asks you what you do for a living, first try and evaluate whether or not you could escape the law if you were to break their nose.
Second (or first depending on the previous step), cut them out of your life forever.
Not only is it none of their fucking business, but it's such a disgusting mindset when the first thing someone does to get to know another person is find out how much disposable income they're working with.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
i'd disagree slightly. When I make new friends with guys and we talk about what we do for a living, i'll usually ask about how it pays and fish for a figure purely out of curiosity for their industry.
Not with girls though. I've met girls who clearly had no interest in me as a person ask how much I earn, when I tell them their eye would light up, big cheesy smile, and head drops to one side like a puppy trying to look cute (note: I'm a Software Developer, rolling in money and don't spend it on bitches... EVER).
[–][deleted] 6 points7 points8 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Meh, at least she's honest. If I were a ho with no talent then I'd also be trying to find a sugar daddy. What I don't like is the dishonest ones that claim to be "independent and strong" while still expecting a guy to take care of them.
[–]CerebralAbrasion4 points5 points6 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
How much a guy makes wouldn't be an issue if women didn't assume they'll be taking his money.

Remember people, you don't have to impress the THOTs, actually the more you don't the better for you!
The rule is this: show no money, boast as little as possible and be yourself. If she is not "impressed" then she is not for you, move on!
The more effort you put in, the broader but shittier the selection will be. Don't be a moron and don't try to impress scumbags!
In the game of selection, start low and never ever outbid yourself! Also, if interest is not mutual, then move on, time is precious and wasting it on dry vagina is not worth it!
As with everything, as you grow older you grow stronger, that is the rule for men. The today's THOT will be a creepy post wall rag in 10 years, while you will still look super (if not, more masculine and well defined) and you can pick and choose young girls and they will all be wet for you.

[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 7 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Working in a steel warehouse is a pretty manly job. Women don't want "Men", modern women want little boys, seriously, go look @ how many 20/30/40/50 year old women are raping school boys, they legit want the losers of society, which is why they love terrorists, modern women LOVE the failures of the human race.
