if you get a dog to get girls you're doing something wrong. once its not a puppy anymore and girls don't approach you as much you still have to take care of it for 10+ years. its a huge commitment. also calling it a 'conversation piece'? its a living thing that actaully has needs not some piece of furniture. if you are gonna get a dog make sure you know what youre in for

A dog is an enormous responsibility. And you shouldn't commit to anything that important based on how it impacts your chances with women.

Get a dog because you want one and you have time to be a responsible owner.

Dude, unless you get some shitty little bitch dog, they are a lot of work. I mean A LOT. The expense is enormous. Did I mention they are a lot of work? What you talked about should factor into maybe 1% of the decision. Get a dog when you know you have the time to care for it. There are MUCH better time/money investments to get laid than getting a dog, and that is not what they are there for.

But yeah, it helps huge lol. The dog parks are ground zero for easy conversations. If you were going to get a dog for other reasons, then get a nice friendly dog that goes up and introduces himself to everyone. My dog specifically only goes up to young, usually attractive, women, it's like he can tell. I'm not sure if this is the demographic most likely to pet him (he does this with kids too), but he certainly doesn't do it to some random man. I maybe unintentionally conditioned him.

Guys who get dogs to pick up women get laughed at by women who actually have dogs.

If you have never owned one, please read this. Before you get a dog:

read AT LEAST 4 books on dog training methods.
get prices and schedules for the ring, schutzhund, herding, or assistance school in your region, and understand the commitment it takes. decide the level of training you want based on knowing the options, and make the decision of how far you want to go.
PLAN how you are going to get to the gym when you need 30-45mins every morning, and 30-45mins every night to walk your dog.
price out boarding kennels nearby so you can take holidays occasionally.

Once you've done those things, then start thinking about when you want to add a dog to your life.

First and foremost, a dog is a companion. That is the only motivation you should have. If your first move after picking up the animal is to start sniffin for bitches you need to reconsider.

Others have hit on it. Don't go out and claim responsibility for an animal if you do not fully understand the responsibility it entails. Yea, having a dog that is trained and obedient is a display of frame. But if you get a dog while the rest of your life is still a mess and that dog becomes a part of your mess itll make you look like a weak little bitch. Disobedient ill tempered dogs play against you as much as a well trained dog plays for you. If you've got you're shit together, a dog can be icing on the cake, but it definately isnt a one way ticket to pussy.

Also, take great care in choosing a dog. There's a lot of pride in society when the claim "he's a rescueee" is made but those animals have a very likely chance to come with baggage. They couldve been stuffed in a cage and forgotten for years and then stuck in a loud anxious shelter for longer. He won't be socialble and could leave you pretty much taking care of a special needs animal for 14 years. Friends and family close to me went the rescue route blindly and now managing the animal is the focal point of their life. Theyve spent well over a thousand dollars on personal training for the animal that was more or less useless. now its on xanax and it still terrorizes anything or one new in the enviroment. Dont let a shit dog be your purgatory. Its not your responsibility. Let virtuous lesbian couples bear that burden.

Getting a dog to pick up women is lame:

They are a huge money and time investment
They are a living thing that feels and deserves better than your half-assed ownership. They are NOT meant to be tools for "game".
Using dogs to pick up women is played out. I've been running at a park and seen guys get called out on it. It was funny as shit!

Any pet should be for you. And if you want to be really clever get a interesting pet not something generic like a dog:

Spergs everywhere. It's almost amusing.

It's interesting the lead pic is a Siberian Husky. I have two of them and a lab. They are absolutely the best fit for me, extremely strong willed, stubborn only scratches the surface. High energy, they require not only space but activity. An apartment alone for 8 hours well result in everything you own being systemically torn up. The fur is fucking epic, had to raise my bed nearly 4' up to keep them off it. Doesn't matter how often you change the sheets, you're always covered in fur if they get on your bed. If you train them to stay off, they will only refrain from it while you're there, they take your suggestion under advisement and do whatever the fuck they want. They are absolutely brilliant, escape is a fun thing for them, they learn fast, and will train you if you're not strong willed.

You can think otherwise, and that you can train them like a lab, shepherd, or something, but huskies are the "fuck you, I'll do what I want" dogs. That's precisely why I like them, they're me in a dog.

I have a large piece of land, covered in woods, they have a fenced in area where they can run and not get into trouble. They love going on hikes with me, but they need to stay on a leash because they'll kill any small furry animal they see or smell, and forget recall, when they go hunting you're supposed to go along not call them back.

Every time I've met girls while out with one or both of them, the girls love them. It's incredibly easy to get numbers and hook up with them when I met them on a hike. That isn't why I have huskies, it's a bonus. I have them because they are there for me, my companions for their life, traveling partners, and my early warning system. The food I get them costs about $70 a month, I have an 8' high fence to keep them in, and it takes lots of time brushing them, but to me it's worth it.

If you live in an apartment, want to go chase pussy every night, and are too immature to get them what they need, do not get a dog. Definitely don't get a husky if that's you.

I'm more of a cat person. I picked up a stray kitten about a year ago. Whether a guy with a cat is alpha or not is debatable but if I pop her in my shoulder bag when I go out for a walk girls will approach me and want to pet her.

I have the best dog ever. He's a lab/beagle mix, a year old, and I can already tell he's gonna look like a puppy forever - people always ask "how old is your puppy?" or "is he a baby weimaraner?" (which he basically is in everything except for his size and his tail). He's a fucking hit with the ladies too, and because he's still young, he's got that puppy energy and charm, which just draws them in harder. It's like walking around with a celebrity, it's nuts how many people stare at my handsome mutt as we walk by. And pretty much every girl we pass by between the ages of 10 and 40 all fucking melt when they see him.

If your wingman doesn't have four paws, you're doing it wrong. That's not to say you should get a dog to pull broads, but if you're willing to put the work in, you've got a faithful companion for years to come, and a true lady killer (at least in the puppy years).

A permanent exercise buddy, always up for a run or an adventure. Always ecstatic to see you when you get home, which can be so therapeutic after a shit day at work.

You get out what you put in with a dog. Shower them with affection and attention and they'll do the same.

Another positive is with enough time invested, you can successfully transform your dog from a mere pet into a selfless weapon that attacks only when you want it to. It took my dog almost a year to get familiar with the commands.

i love dogs. i also love minimizing my bills and the responsibilities i carry. therefore, i don't have a dog.

i also know i'd come to prefer the company of the dog more than most people. hence i would stay home and play with the dog instead of being social. another reason i don't have a dog.

maybe one day, but it just doesn't fit into my life right now.
