News articles usually focus on the irrelevant stuff like "who should pay on the first date?" or catcalling, instead of the big stuff like how women get the majority of cushy jobs of public administration, diversity hires and promotions in the private economy, women getting a larger share from government spending etc (don't have a copy-paste list at hand like MRAs).

Recently, Washington state had an election for sheriff. I was unfortunate enough to have a number of YouTube videos interrupted by ads for the incumbent, who proudly declared, "I noticed that our sheriff's department needed more diversity. I am proud to announce that our sheriff's department now has 46% women and people of color!"

I immediately snarled at my phone, "How about you hire competent people who can do the fucking job, and not tiny and ineffective women who get beaten to a pulp by large criminals who go on to hurt other people, asshole!

If men on the whole start feeling truly oppressed, we would probably just stop giving a fuck about appeasing women and go full Saudi Arabia on them. I do think women invading men's spaces and feminising the things we love will drive men to political movements, maybe even religion.

The problem with that line of thinking is everyone is oppressed in some way or another. The problem comes when you start picking out who gets to decide who is oppressed, to what degree, and what you do about it to fix it.

The whole front page of the news subreddit is allegations of sexual misconduct, assault and rape.

Men can't be sexual beings anymore without getting "called out" at some point down the road. Long gone are the days of simply laughing about drunkenly hooking up with some girl at a party or finger banging some chick in a dark corner in a club.

These days, that type of shit looms in your conscious thinking "would she ever falsely accuse me?" People can just share a viral meme of your face with the word "rapist" next to it and ruin your reputation among your family and peers.

Good read. I'm coming across a lot more articles like this lately. The type of articles that have a "wait, are we going too far?" tone in regards to feminism. Makes me wonder if the feminism movement is starting become a little more moderate.
