This whole idea that I have to be an asshole to attract women is somewhat ironical. If your ultimate goal is to attract woman, your assholery can never be authentic.

[Assuming that in this context "asshole" means someone who doesn't pedestalize women, see them as superiors or precious beings and overvalues them by positing that being able to attract them is some sort of great feat and a worthy achievement and that it is capable of determining my value].

So this way of going about it is somewhat wrong. What is required is undoing of the conditioning that makes one feel that women are superior, precious and that their attainment is worthy of the struggle involved in the process and so on.

Someone trying to become an asshole in order to attract women is like someone trying to become unselfish in order to win the lottery.

I don't like being an asshole. You want me to hit you? To rough you up? To yell and be a domestic abuser? I grew up in a home full of that shit I'm trying to escape it. I want romance. I want affection. I want understanding and I want peace between us.

Part of the reason I gave up on dating is because I fear that given my history of domestic abuse growing up, some women who is "bored" will do some irrational thing to make me lash out and I'll snap and kill her. Then will you still love the bad boy? When I'm standing over your lifeless body ready to put a bullet in my own head because I've taken your own life and suicide is preferable to jail. At that point, when I've broken my facade/mask of pleasant easy going guy who you've grown "bored of", after I kill you, will I be a "nice guy" or an "asshole"?
