If you want to advance your career, visit the VA and have your primary care doctor put in a Vocational Rehabilitation Consult with the VHA (Veterans Health Administration). Work with your new vocational rehabilitation counselor toward pursuing a higher paying career. If you are service connected then also fill out a Ch. 31 application with the VBA (Veterans Benefits Administration). Work with this new vocational rehabilitation counselor also, toward pursuing a higher paying career. If you are service connected (SC) then you could qualify for Ch. 31 which could pay for education/trade school and buy you a computer in addition to helping you prepare for and find a new career. If you are not SC then consider filing a SC claim with your local Veterans Service Officer (VSO). If you are not SC then consider filing a claim for Non-service connection (NSC) with your local VSO. Well, on the subject of child support payments, it might be prudent to get a paternity test. I know that the family court is a flaming pile of horseshit, but if the kid isn't yours you might try to get out of child support. Another key piece of advice would be to remember AWALT, never marry again. Best not to date or co-habitate either. Just my two cents though. Good luck man.

You're going to have to rebuild. You learned your lesson don't forget it. Figure out who and what you want to be. make a plan and execute the plan. Hang in there buddy. Take it a day at a time. It's a tough lesson, but you can take this wisdom and put it towards a more positive future. There are alot of guys on this sub who have been through something similar and they've found ways to move forward, you can too.

See if your lawyer can get her to pay you alimony. You've helped her through Med school, it's the law and she would use it against you if roles were reversed. Good luck man, this too shall pass.

I'd say consult a lawyer when shes a doctor.

They may be able to get the alimony payments reversed as she'll be making vastly more than you. Not only that, the debt may be put on her. You never know what they might be able to do.

Get a good lawyer though.
