This happened to me about 10 years ago. Muai Thai with my then girlfriend. Using pads somewhere between the size of those in the vid and focus mitts.

High kicks and I was simply 'landing' at the mitts. She complained about me not following through, told her politely it wouldn't be a good idea. She rolled her eyes in disgust, so I said ok.

Kicked the mitts so hard they flew back and effectively punched herself in the face. Instructor had to run over and hold her up until she got over being 'rocked'.
