Women attempt suicide more. Men succeed at it more.

Women are more likely to use methods that are harder to be successful at like poisoning themselves where not only is it harder to accomplish, there is usually a time period where they can be discovered and rushed to the hospital.

Men are more likely to shoot themselves, hang themselves or jump off a tall building or bridge.

9 out of 10 suicides I see while working as a Cop are men. 90% of those suicides are related to a relationship breakdown or having their kids taken away by a woman. This also includes every Cop suicide i've seen as well.

OP-- it's an entertainment "news" publication-- news about celebrities and gossip and social life stuff.

The majority of its readers are women. Makes sense they'd focus just on women-- thats who their customer base is.

Also, attempted suicide should not be spoken of in the same breath as "committed" suicide. Men are just better at completing tasks while women are better at failing and then asking for help.
