the chick he wants he even witnesses her banging other guys while she makes him wait. Banging guys on impulse. But not wanting to bang him because “she doesn’t want him to see her that way” lol

The show is like a walking advertisement for MGTOW. Proving that you should never obsess over a woman. It only gets you into trouble and horrible situations. You are treated like trash and always a back up plan. Obsessing over a thot who actually does no work at all. And is taken care of by other men. Sexually and financially. I’m 5 episodes in and I can’t stop laughing and yelling at this pathetic simp.

Well there actually is a silver lining for MGTOW in the movie

Spoiler alert

Natalie Portman, the main character that comes back from the affected area, went in because she wanted to save her husband

And the reason she wanted to go in was that, she had a perfect marriage yet the female desire/nature to screw up everything, even what's good for herself, got the better of her and made her betray her husband with another guy

The husband went in the area because he wanted to kill himself when he found out...

The movie kind of acknowledges that women are fucked up children that don't know what they want and in fact every other women that went in with her had their own mental issues

I stopped watching after 45 minutes. In a nutshell it's a movie about women who argue with each other, blame the environment for all their mistakes, and end up getting each other killed because of their bickeing and inability to work together.

Mind you these are supposed to be the world's smartest problem solvers and the entire movie shows them acting like children. This film is a perfect example of glorifying women who don't know how to take responsibility for their own actions.

I mean, the all female cast aside, which to me wasn’t a huge deal (I never got the impression it was some weird show of female strength or something) I enjoyed it a decent amount. Mainly because we rarely get cosmic horror in film. There were some fucked up scenes that stuck with me, and the overall setting of everything getting mutated and rearranged was an interesting premise. It wasn’t great, the writing was pretty bland. But the camera work, soundtrack, and editing were all top grade. To me it was just a solid 6.5/10.

Did you write this review on IMDb? Highlights a lot of the problems with movies lately. All the money seems to be spent on getting in big names and on big special effects, and the script basically gets a once over from a small team of wannabe scriptwriters and then rubber stamped. Coherent plot and decent dialogue? Not needed, apparently.

First of all this movie was not confusing, nor was it thought provoking. I get the idea of morphology, the shimmer refracting dna and the idea of one's own self destruction to becoming something new/ different. Those ideas were cool, but that's not what I have issues with. It's hard to take this movie as a deep, intellectual movie when common sense and basic logic is all tossed aside. Here is a list of things that I couldn't get passed in this movies:
1. The team. Only one person had military training yet they were all given automatic weapons?
2. The biologist doesn't wear gloves when swabbing specimens? Who cares about contamination right?
3. Everyone they sent into the shimmer has died and never made it back except one guy who is dying and coughing up blood. They kept him in a quarantined area and wore hazmat suits around him, but they go into the shimmer unprotected?
4.This is a military/government operation, where's the military? It would have made more sense to send a team of scientist in with a team of trained military professionals. I get the girl power in this, but you could have sent them in with an all female unit.
5. You kill a giant, vicious mutated gator and decided the best mode of transportation is to get in the water on tiny row boats? People! We are talking about a gator that is on steroids and has severe roid rage! This place is a swamp!
6.Their idea of standing on guard at night is to have one person on the ground 200 ft away from everyone in a small guard shack that has no walls where something can grab you from all angles while everyone else was high up in a lookout tower. There was a balcony on the tower that had one set of stairs that went up it. That is where you put your guard.
7.Who the hell packed their gear? No night vision goggles? No secondary side arms? No masks in case of deadly spores? The side arms and night vision googles later in the movie were stripped from the soldiers equipment they found.

Now. I am not saying do not watch this movie. You can do whatever you want. It's your choice. You might like it and not be bothered by the things I listed.What I am saying is that I cannot agree with those that are praising this as the best sci-fi movie or that it's the most intelligent one. For every intellectually stimulating subject that's touched in the movie is quickly overshadowed by some boneheaded decisions and actions.

There are (in my opinion) better Sci-fi movies out there. Arrival, Blade Runner 1 and 2, Ex Machina, Any Star Trek movie, District 9, 2001, Alien and Aliens, Predator, The Maze Runner, The Matrix, Close Encounters, The Edge of Tomorrow, Minority Report, Interstellar, Dune...

Try Z nation as a tv show. That stuffs hilarious. Some pathetic moments with beta stuff but most is entertaining and funny.
