Potiphar did not believe his wife.
Potiphar put Joseph in prison because he wanted to save face. If he let Joseph go he would be tacitly admitting that he believed Joseph and would then have to execute his wife to save face. On the other hand, if he actually believed his wife then he would have just executed Joseph and called it a day. He sent Joseph to prison because he believed Joseph and didn't want to execute his wife (and he also liked Joseph and did not want to execute an innocent man). Basically, he gave his wife a pussypass.

And Joseph was a slave. There would be absolutely no pushback to executing a slave over the attempted rape of the wife of someone with Potiphar's status.
I think that Potiphar probably still got the sideways glances from his peers over throwing Joseph in prison because people would have suspected that something was up since Joseph wasn't executed immediately. And I think the only thing that spared Joseph's life was that Potiphar respected him so highly. Any other slave he would have just executed outright to spare his ego. And that is where I think his anger was from.
And it's not like Potiphar's wife would have been some sort of bastion of purity before this incident. She was probably a known philanderer so this sort of situation wouldn't have surprised anyone.

You underestimate the gynocentrism of the average man if you believe that Potiphar believed his wife because he didn't execute her.
The average man would throw an innocent man under the bus to protect his guilty wife.

Well while we're on the subject of the Bible. Ponder on this gem. Adam had the whole garden to himself all the animals were his friends and he named them. God saw that he was lonely and created a creature to be by his side from his own flesh. He called her a woman because she came from man.
Eve fell prey to sweet words and partook of the only thing in the garden she was not supposed to. That's right the woman did the exact thing she was told not to (sound familiar). Then she brought some back and convinced her husband to eat to and drug him down with her.
The first woman literally brought sin into the world, and screwed the first man out of paradise. For punishment the woman's pain during child birth would greatly increase, and the man would be forced to toil in labor to eat. The animals who were once all Adams friends would now fear and run away at the sight of man.

So you blame Adam who had not only been alive in the garden for an undefined amount of time, who heeded God's command not to eat the fruit for that duration. One variable is introduced into the situation a woman who Adam told we should not eat from that tree because God said.
She eats it anyway because the serpent told her of what she would gain (typical of women screw everything else as long as I gain something). She who was now a sinner and held the knowledge of good and evil did not attempt to save Adam who she supposedly loved from the same fate but brought him the fruit and tempted him into joining her.
I wouldn't say he did it out of lust/simping. Adam was the first man therefore he has to be the genesis of an alpha male. What I believe is that Adam "trusted" Eve wholeheartedly. She was the only other being of his kind and she abated his loneliness.
Can you imagine being alone in the world for so long and then one day you have someone to talk to and spend your days with? I personally can't say I would have been able to make a different decision tempted by the power of knowledge.

Could we not view this from another angle as well though? God wanted to quell Adam's loneliness so he created Eve. Eve was a gift from God. A gift from God that shows how much he loved Adam. So could we not therefore say that Eve's mere existence is symbolic of God's love?
Adam who lived to be 930 years old may have not wanted to lose Eve. For all we know he spent 150+ years alone in the garden. We don't know the reason why he did it, but if I were a betting man I'd definitely bet that Adam didn't want to be alone again.

This begs the question though, God being omniscient knew before creating Eve that she would be Adam's downfall. So why create her? Why even place the tree where it could be easily reached?
Edit: I know you can't answer these questions I'm sort of just thinking aloud through my comments

Yes, Delilah cut his hair while he slept to take away his strength. She nagged, whined, and used her sexuality to finally enable him to trust her with the secret to his strength. She then betrayed him and he was taken captive by the Philistines who gouged out his eyes and enslaved him.
Seems to me mans ultimate weakness is women.
