Being lonely can have more reasons than just a lack of love though.. People like to pretend that having a partner is the only way to not be lonely, while in the end I think there are more lonely people in a relationship than single ones. The ones that are single often have other relationships, while the "taken" ones are often stuck to their partner and what these want. A taken woman can almost always do as she pleases, while a man has to sacrifice all his friendships, interests and time to please her every whim... How many times did I tell my ex I wanted some time for myself and she'd be asking for my attention every 10 minutes.. more than I can recall. Having to "service" the relationship in such a way is exhausting and makes you feel unseen and unheard, which makes you feel lonely.
