First I want to humble brag that I've been monk for just over a year now. It's a great feeling. Onto the story.

They have been together for 3-ish years. Moved in together last summer. He's been miserable since then.

He admitted it to me last weekend when he and I were going to a show. Whitey Morgan and the 78s. Check it out if you're into good honky tonk country music. Anyway, we're an hour into the drive and she texts him asking "Where are you?". He says "What the fuck man? I said goodbye and told her you were here." Then he started spilling his guts about everything. He's miserable. Typical shit we've all experienced. Nagging. Mad for ridiculous reasons. Just can't talk to her. Unappreciative.

So I'm a listening ear. Plant a few mgtow eggs. We go to the show and have a great time. Then comes this past weekend. He and I record a podcast when we can. We try to at least every other Saturday. This Saturday he tells her we're recording that evening and she guilt trips him out of doing it. Says she has to study for a test on THURSDAY. Recording and editing takes maybe 3 hours. She has all week. Dude can't even do one thing that we love together in his house. Could we do it at my house? No. We have a fairly intricate setup and he's soundproofed the studio for that reason.

Then she says "You guys record all the time. I don't get it." He tells her it's because we love it and that's how podcasts work. Then leaves. He's been at his dad's since then. He texted me today saying "stay single dude".

They can't stand us being happy.
