I read a lot of posts/comments talking about how you should be working out, eating healthy, pursuing goals, getting sober, working hard, starting your own business, seeking out knowledge, meditating. Generally just becoming the best version of yourself.

While I do understand that it is good for you and it motivates you it should not be a requirement of MGTOW. For some people doing these things makes them miserable trying to live up to expectations and experiencing failure when they don’t see results. Everyone is different and that’s why it’s going your OWN way.

If a man is happier being lazy, not working out, eating unhealthy, working a shit job, getting drunk/high, giving up on dreams, and just doing what makes HIM happy at the time then all the power to him. I don’t encourage it but I don’t condemn it either.

It is self righteous in a way to be telling people to better themselves and it annoys me. It’s like you’re placing more demands on men who are trying to be free of a society that demands so much of them.

TLDR - Life is short, do your own thing. MGTOW is about getting women out of your life. Bettering yourself is not a requirement of MGTOW in my opinion. If it makes you happy then by all means do it. If not then spend your time doing whatever the hell you want.
