Lemmings? You have a poor opinion of your fellow man. I trained a few hundred guys over the years, some coming from dirt-farmers, most coming from single mother homes, a few coming from actual families. They came to learn a skill or a set of skills, some even learn a trade, most come to find themselves.

Men learn to be men in the military, they learn what it means to be responsible, and to be honest, have integrity, and to beat a motherfucker down for fucking with his buddy. They learn to drink, so much better than college kids. They learn to bond, and to solve problems with little to no resources, they learn that they need to do whatever it takes to succeed, even when the success criteria have only been vaguely spelled out. They learn to overcome their fears, and learn to overcome the thought of living forever and thinking grandly about themselves.

Then one day, probably about 25 years old after that guy is now an old-timer, it all clicks, and he starts to understand what it all means, why things are the way they are, what his part in the play is and how to put himself into another part if he wishes...and he starts teaching and training the next batches of momma's boys coming through the gates, 'slicing that nipple off at their lips and teaching them the things he learned.

Lemmings...you have no idea what you're talking about. There's a reason why the US Army has a long, proud tradition of fragging our poor leaders....and it's not because we're lemmings.

I retired after 24 years, some of them years sucked, I buried friends, but I also have stories that I have learned mean that I have really lived my life, and not just bullshitted my way through doing shit like making bucket-lists and saying "one day, one day" about all of the shit that we learned to just go and do, just get it done.

As long as they know what they're getting in to, no problem.

One problem though is the brainwashing. Soldiers aren't fighting for freedom anymore. They're fighting to maintain an empire.

I was a militarist until the military college reject my request, this was a life-changer(holy) gift from potential god or creator to me. That day i was 18 yo. Now 21 yo and my life changed a lot! I realized what i'm going to do, what i like really and honestly. I became a part of MGTOW through this gift. I've dozens friends from military, actually my father was a cop. I always want to be a cop until that day also. But thanks god i've scoliosis disorder. They rejected me to joining from all kinds of armed groups. I was also studying engineering i left it when i was 19-20 yo, nowadays i'm studying translating/interpreting at a good goverment college. I found my own way.

A strong military keeps your place from being steamrolled, deters others from trying to steamroll your place, encourages people who don't want to trade their resources to share them, and turns what would otherwise be white noise coming out of statesmen' and diplomats' mouths into noise that you want to pay attention to.

Well if you're in Australia our soldiers are being told that they can't use pronouns because it's offensive to the damaged freaks that represent 0.00001% of our army.

I work on base and have worked with military for years. It can be a good decision if you get in the right spot and make a career of it. After 20 years in, you can retire and have a guranteed income. Not enough on its own but its something. Also you get access to health care as well. Once retired you get a preference for any military job openings as a contractor or GS employee.

While in, you can if you push for it the right way learn some valuable skills and get to travel. It's isn't always easy but for single MGTOW, it would be a lot easier. I never joined but if I had to do it all over again I would join the Air Force, assuming you live in the US. I don't know about other countries.

The key issue for me is the manipulation. The powers that be determine to go to war and they then manufacture the reason as to why the man in the street ought to risk his life. A very telling example is the battle of crecy some 700 years ago to encourage the men of England to fight the French they were told that the French were raping the Belgium nuns. In 1914 again my grandfather was told that the Belgium nuns were being raped. Check out the tv series blackadder there was a episode of a painting contest depicting German troops raping Belgium nuns. It shows you how crazy it is how do we get them to go to their deaths oh give them the old Belgium nun story.

A second shocking example was the Michael Moore documentary on Fahrenheit 911. Which showed bush’s early investments had been financed by a friend from the National guard. Bush served in the guard to avoid being drafted. The source of his friends invited money was the bin laden group. After 911 when it was shown that most of the hijackers were Saudi a disinformation effort was put in place to convince the USA that Iraq was the culprit. The us then attacked Iraq which greatly favoured dick Cheney the vp of one of the largest oil services co.

The name of the game is always who is making a profit out of this. It is very strange that even now after the collapse of the ussr the us is spending 4% of its gdp on arms while 20 trillion in debt running a massive fiscal deficit and the inability to meet its pension commitments. The amount they spend dwarfes the next 5 countries by a massive margin and all of these countries are nato allies which are not likely to attack the us anyway.

It's a necessary service that merits a degree of respect and appreciation, but the endless ball-washing and glorification gets really tiresome. I have relatives in the military and they despise that "thank you for your service" sniveling drivel they're constantly subjected to on a daily basis.
