This post does not directly discuss red pill concepts. Rather, these are some thoughts/opinions I have been having for a while now, and I wanted to share with you people, perhaps even incite a discussion on how it affects our path to self-development.
The way our brains work, analogous to the way a neural network algorithm learns data.
According to Richard Dawkins, the human body is merely a vessel for carrying the main driver of life: the gene. The objective of the human body is to survive long enough in space so the gene can propagate forward in time. Because human beings have longer lifespans, the gene designed the human brain to recognise patterns to immediately adapt to its surroundings - something that reproduction would otherwise take eons to do so. I believe that these recognised patterns have one goal in mind: to tell the human body what is best for the propagation of genes. For example: all of us are familiar with flashbacks to something stupid we did ages ago. This is our brain constantly reminding us of a bad pattern to avoid in order to make sure the genes are properly propagated forward.
In layman's terms, given a data, the more complex it is, the more neurons you need to learn the pattern (or correlations) within the data. Each one of us was born with, on a large-scale basis, the same kind of instincts. By analysing our world around us, we developed neurons to remember patterns so that we could correlate future encounters with 'similar' patterns within the ones we stored in our 'library'. In essence, what patterns you develop are directly related to your surroundings.
Application of this logic to the real world.
If you are brought up in a high-stress environment, that high level of stress is recognised by your brain to be a baseline pattern. Compare that to someone brought up in a low-stress environment: their baseline stress levels recognised by their brains are, in essence, lower than the same from those in the previous case.
Does it mean that they are incapable of surviving in a higher stress environment? Certainly not. It is, however, their brain's pattern recognition that inhibits them from pushing themselves.
The human brain is capable of marvelous feats. We are all aware of this, and can cite all sorts of examples like elite athletes and premier scientists. One example that we all miss is simply within each one of our experiences: assuming most of us were born before the 1990s, we all stepped into the information age at the same time. The volume of patterns and information our brains were fed before the information age (i.e. during the good old dial up modem days) was significantly lower than what we are fed on a daily basis from our mobile phones. And yet, our brain just laps it all up like a hungry wolf without us breaking down having fits and seizures on the floor.
We are all aware of 'cognitive dissonance', where our brains simply cannot classify a certain pattern to a certain category, or finds the pattern against what it predicts it to be. In the Red Pilled realm, this is important; the libraries of patterns we have accumulated throughout the years come from our conditioning, our blue-pilled mentalities. It is from where I believe arises the 'anger-phase' that we all are so fondly familiar with.
The anger phase, to me, seems to be our brain rationalising its own failure in adopting the correct patterns to its library. Perhaps this may sound illogical to most, since how does the brain know what is correct any way? What is correct and what is incorrect is merely a classification of how much a certain pattern conforms to your learned libraries of patterns: to some, rescuing a cat by climbing up the tree is the right thing to do, whereas to others cutting the tree down and possibly jeopardizing the life of the cat makes more sense (there's a video somewhere of a Russian cop doing this to 'save' the cat; except they tear the tree apart, the tree falls onto live electric wires which electrocutes the cat, which survives any ways). If the human brain recognises the potential of a newer patterns to improve significantly its possibility to propagate the gene forwards in time, it will adopt that as 'correct'. However, these kinds of revelations are VERY DIFFICULT for our blue-pilled mentalities. They only work when the brain recognises that the current pattern library does not benefit the gene in the long run, hence the reason why most of us are here after we have been 'burned'.
Some underlying philosophies, and where we can go ahead from this logic.
Everything makes most sense when broken down to its core concepts. Pattern recognition can be applied to the gym, to BJJ, to every day life, to relationships, to businesses and to red pill concepts. Are you depressed? Well, that's probably because you've let yourself go into a downwards spiral, and your brain being so efficient at storing patterns has basically accumulated enough 'negative' patterns to have a general negative psyche. Are you a stud? Well, that's probably because you've had so many positive experiences in your life that your brain has stored enough of 'positive' patterns to relate the world with.
Perhaps this way of thinking makes it easier for most of us to understand some complex red pill concepts that people may simply opt to memorise as 'hard rules' instead of trying to internalise the reason behind them. I'm not sure to what extent I can apply this idea, but I have a feeling it is valuable to me. My only gripe is that I need to develop patterns in my own brain to remember that my brain remembers everything by patterns. haha!
Who am I.
I am a scientist, and I design algorithms for satellites belonging to space agencies that monitor the Universe and our Earth. I work with premier knowledge institutes, whose names I will not share. I have been incorporating a lot of machine learning and neural network algorithms in my study, to surprisingly amazing results. For context: machine learning is the core concept behind Big Tech companies like Google, Facebook, etc.
I would love to hear from you what you think of this. (To the mods) If this post does not belong here, please feel free to delete this article from the main page - this is in fact my first time posting here, and I do believe I am not at a stage to do so yet. I learned a lot by writing this article, as sometimes I believe writing concepts down makes them more concrete in my head. Thank you for taking the time to go through my ideas.
