Is this confirmed or why do women initiate 70-80% of divorces?

No more resources to consume or she has successfully sucked your soul out and seeks fresh meat.

Their pea-sized brain can't comprehend that after getting married and having kids, you're spending all your money on daycare, diapers, heating, taxes, etc and there's no money for dating and flowers. It's not the same life!
They go on social media and see all the fake people and friends pretending to be happy and they wonder why their life sucks. It's supposed to suck! That's what sacrifice is.
So they initiate the divorce and then its sucks even harder for you, for her, and especially the kids.
[β]Long_Range_Shooter21 points22 points23 points 8 years ago (4 children) | Copy Link
I think it's closer to 60% but usually it's their lying girl friends bragging about all the Rich Chads available that causes most of the divorces.
Add in the side thing that brags how much money he has that dumps the bitch right after the divorce goes through doesn't help.
I have several divorced women with kids around me and all thought the pickings would be much better after they got divorces.
Reality sucks for those women.
The numbers should be, yes men are better off AFTER the child support ends and women see their quality of life drop considerably.
I see it around me as the months are ticking off until the child support check ends. You can see the level of anxiety increasing as time goes on and their is no serious guys in their lives. It's all fun and games when they have eight or ten years of child support ahead of them. It's bang any guy with a job trying to get him to marry you at <18 months to go on that child support check.

How many months left?
[β]Long_Range_Shooter3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
The one ran out about five years ago and she "Didn't need a man" until six months before the last check came in. The guys she dated since the checks stop coming, she wouldn't have wasted her time on while still collecting child support.
Two others, the first has two kids, the oldest just turned 18 and is a complete SJW nightmare. The 16 year old has some issues medical as well as learning. Mom basically ran the father out of the house with her constant nagging. Then when he (44) got himself a 21 year old girlfriend she went nuts and turned both kids on the father. She was telling everyone that the girlfriend had just turned 18 and she could probably get him for statutory rape, to make him look bad. He told all three to drop dead he was done with them.
She is a glorified booty call for some guy she met on Craigslist. He wants nothing to do with her kids, period. No marriage is coming in that relationship. She shows up at his house on Sunday to get laid and drives an hour back home.
She has a mouthy friend that is in reality a Stepford wife. When this friends husband isn't around she's a screaming feminist dishing out all kinds of Bull S**t on how you need to get you husbands inline like I do with mine. The mouthy friends husband told me the only reason he doesn't leave her is, that everything out there is as bad or worse than what he's already married to. Plus he is afraid if he leaves her he might not be able to find another woman and he doesn't want to end up alone.
She has maybe two and half years left on her child support, June of 2019.
The other one made the mistake of marrying a man of color and having three kids. He is your basic I wanted the hot white wife but didn't want the kids and the responsibility that comes with being a father. Plus he was physically abusive and she walked out with the kids and will never go back under any circumstances.
The kids are good in the most part no behavioral problems and good students. The oldest 18 is going through that I know everything stage but she isn't that much of a problem. Although she has a thing about dating idiots. Hopefully it's just a rebellious teenager thing. Her youngest is 15 so she probably has three and half years left, June of 2020.
I give both about another year before panic starts to set in. The one with two kids gets a little over $800 a month and the one with three kids is bringing in $1100 a month.

why do women initiate 70-80% of divorces?
Because they think the grass is greener on the other side. They want to trade up.
Women live in a fantasy world. And Hollywood and media feed to them what they want to hear.
I've been watching few YouTube videos of a woman who helps other older women get a partner. And that matchmaking lady is often going insane because her female clients are totally unaware of the gap between what they're offering and what they're asking for. And the worst thing about it are female friends, who usually say "nah, you can do better than that guy". And women listen to their female friends too much, peer feedback is important to them.
[β]Rollbar35910 points11 points12 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
I agree completely, women have a same gender bias. In the old days, the phrase when people were having marital difficulties was βwork it outβ. Now the are fed the illusion that they are entitled to a life without struggle and constant joy. After the divorce to fix all the ills in her life, they learn the struggle remains. Happiness is finding and creating joy by focusing on the positives. Life without struggle does not exist.

It's because the statistic is a load of shit. How many men are homeless post divorce compared to women? This sort of crap is up there with the pay gap myth. Feminists are congenital liars.
Edit: to be clear the statistic that men are better off and women are much worse off post divorce is just made up. That 70% of divorces in the US are initiated by women is undisputed.

Women are simply incapable of living with less because to them nothing is ever good enough. In fact that's part of the reason why I think men enjoy camping more than women. In fact a perfect example of this is clothes. About twice a year, I go through my closet and dresser and get rid of anything that either is too worn or doesn't fit and drop it at a clothing drop box. I've met women who refuse to do this. In fact many of them flat out told me while in their messy bedrooms that they have to go and swap out their winter/ summer clothes. Yes they actually rent a storage unit of sorts to keep their clothes that aren't fit for the season.
EDIT: Just realized I used "in fact" a lot.

The woman's standard pre divorce was 100% higher. The man's standard of living was 100% lower. The guy still winds up 67% lower. And that 10% is only because he doesn't have to deal with her anymore.
The woman's standard of living only drops because she's lost her cuck boy slave.
[β]DreadPirateRosco7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
This math checks out.
[β][deleted] 12 points13 points14 points 8 years ago (6 children) | Copy Link
Feminists would look at this stat and scream "we need even more money in divorce!" when the reality is that it's all on them.
The reality is that the vast majority of women have zero self-control when it comes to money. My ex-wife got an insane amount of cash and prizes out of the divorce. Enough to where if she'd carefully budgeted, it would have set her up pretty well for several years. Instead the dumb bitch burned through every penny of it in less than a year, then had the audacity to send me an email about 2 years post-divorce trying to lay some really lame guilt trip on me and implying that she was bitter about the divorce settlement (trust me guys, it was very heavily skewed in her favor -- nowhere near a 50/50 split -- yes, I was a blue pilled idiot who should have fought harder).
Anyway, last I heard she's barely scraping by with her new husband. Meanwhile my net worth just topped $1M and is climbing. I own my own house free-and-clear, and am on track to retire in hopefully about 10 more years.
None of this disparity was due to her getting some sort of unfair deal. She, like all women, has the mind of a child when it comes to money. That's why her "standard of living" is shit now while mine is awesome and only getting better.

When it comes to financial literacy, itβs the very rare woman that has both the knowledge and disciple to constructively plan for their future using their current income and financial tools. Iβm thoroughly amazed at how little they know, how little theyβve saved, how poor their credit ratings are, etc. Yet, they have to drive a luxury vehicle, have no less than a 3,000 sq ft house (rented/leased), and I her expensive lifestyle choices. Iβm even more blown away at how ok they are with their known level of ignorance. Many wear it like a badge of honor in their belief that a man, any man, should be able to sustain their reckless lifestyle.
[β]Rollbar3594 points5 points6 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Delay of gratification is required to save. To the naive, a happy life that means maximizing the amount of pleasure I can have now, regardless of the consequences. Most women spend a lot of money trying to be attractive to get a rich guy buying useless consumer goods. When you first meet them, they seem to be very successful. Not until you find out they have virtually no savings and huge credit card debt is it apparent they are living a lie. When you get married, the out of control spending and living beyond their means puts a huge strain on the family and is a major cause of divorce.

Women are much better off post divorce in comparison to their ex husband. Feminists are making stuff up again. This is just like the wage gap myth. As another poster said, if women do so badly why do they initiate the vast majority of divorces? The answer is of course they know they'll do very well out of it.
[β]cleverbutnotoverlyso2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Their windfall is only temporary. They piss it away and they have to find another sucker. Theyβre money supply is fixed and finite.
Ours is not. We keep earning and living w/in our means and in time, we prosper. If we learned from our mistakes, this only increases more quickly.
[β]Thepussyisbad1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
This is very true. My ex wife makes $50k per year if she maxes her bonuses. First thing she did post divorce when she found out what CS was going to be is buy a $55k Tahoe. If your car, which only depreciates, cost you more than you make in a year, youβre doing it wrong. I have no clue how she got the loan. But then again, she probably put in the $1,500 I pay a month in CS as other income.

It makes sense since women tend to waste money on frivolous things, without a husband to keep them in check, they blow their money. Men on the other hand spend their money even more wisely without a woman trying to spend it.
But even so, this stat is astonishing if it is true given all the money that the man has to fork over to a woman post marriage.
[β]Nougat0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Couple of things here.
One, this means that during the marriage, the woman's standard of living is being raised by the man's giving up his own time, efforts, and finances to the woman's benefit.
Second, I'm curious to how "standard of living" is calculated. Is it a questionnaire type of thing, "How do you assess your standard of living based on what you think it is?" If so, I can see where men might feel they have a better standard of living after a divorce and have less money than they did during the marriage.

[β]randomroxks0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I doubt the generalization.
There are many more such factors. This may be another hit piece to push for more alimony child support. By the way, the payee not getting any tax rebate for child support payment is an absolute theft.
[β]poloppoyop0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
The question is: how much does a man's standard of living drops when he gets in a LTR? 50%? 70%?
The 10% raise after a huge drop still does not make up for years of shit life.

Frivorced in April after 15 years of drama and 4 kids..Γ§4k a month alimony/ child support..I make 250k a year, take home 144 after deductions, so I get to keep 8k a month. She got 250k in the divorce. I was left with 130k, no cash, the house. (Lemons, meet lemonade. Overtime, save cash, pay off credit card, set goals, lift, stay positive, NO REBOUND DATING. )
She makes 4k at her new job.
So we both have 8k a month to spend.
She immediately goes out and buys a house based on an 8k income...even though child support ends in 6 years.
In 6 years, I get a 4k raise. She gets a 4k cut.
But she bought a new hou$e, and a new car.
I kept the old house, and drive a paid for 7 year old minivan...
I have a financial advisor, an attorney, and an accountant.
My goal is 3 milion and out in 7 years. I am refinancing to a 15 year note in april.
I suspect she'll be penniless in 6 years, even with the money she got. And we are both late 40's- the Wall beckons her..
They are as children- all spend and no save. No thought of next year, or decade. Divorced over "feelings"...after she got to be a SAHM...I truly don't know how they survive their chaotic, irrational minds...To be non-logical in that way must be hell. Like a perpetual child.
