It almost makes you wonder if rape really is the serious thing women today say it is, doesn't it?
If it really was all that serious, you would think neither you, nor the women, would even have to talk about preventative measures at all. They would already know such measures, and already practice such measures.
But booze is more important to today's woman than rape. Thrills are more important to today's woman than rape. Carrying on with strange people is more important than rape. Getting high is more important than rape. Travel is more important than rape.
There are so many other things, most of them licentious or downright destructive, that are more important than rape to today's woman, that I hardly think that rape matters much at all to them.
What matters is when she's messed up and out of control, we don't accuse her of poor character. What it's about is when she's taking drugs and consuming booze to excess, we don't dare call her what we call people who do that sort of thing: bad.
It's about not reminding her of the lessons she and all the rest of us had to learn in school about taking off with strangers she doesn't know anything about. That's what this is about.
I'd go so far as to say that rape these days is less about sex at all, forcible or not, and more about the things she wants to do with herself, even if there's nothing redeeming about such activities at all.
Rape today is about why we shouldn't call women bad when they consume alcohol, drugs, take off with strange people, and stay out and away from safety. The sexual assault is just incidental, when and if it happens.
For if it doesn't happen, she can always make it up.

Great post. It really made me look at it a different way.

A bit of a background. I basically asked if it was appropriate to have public awareness that women can prevent rape to a degree (not drinking to blackout levels, being selective of their friends) and some how there are people arguing against that.
Then this idiot literally said that he doesn't think we should tell people that things like alcohol increase their chance of rape. This is more of that 'teach them not to rape' bullshit.
It has really solidified my understanding of male feminists. There is a huge benefit into conning women into being naive, sexually promiscuous and vulnerable.

Reducing risk can also include defense classes. So I guess don’t tell rape victims to learn self defense to protect themselves from a future situation.

Their entire ideology is based on perpetual victimhood.
If they admit they need to take responsibility for their actions their ideology falls apart. Thats why anyone with half a brain sees that feminism makes zero logical sense (this was just one of many examples).

Why do you advocate to "teach men not to rape" ? Have the stupid fucking feminists actually convinced you that rape is some defining characteristic of men, which puts it apart from other henious crimes such as murder, theft, kidnapping etc ? Because as I am sure you know, we do not hold "anti murder" courses in colleges. Because thats fucking retarded. Because everyone knows murder, rape, theft etc is wrong. Its well ingrained in our society. Rapists knows its illegal. How stupid can you possibly be to actually believe campaigning would do ANYTHING at all ?

By 'teach men not to rape' I was using their short hand. It refers to the fact that at sex-ed 'men' (because women sure aren't listening) have it rammed down our throats about consent and this and that. We get told by our parents not to rape. The constant threat of the legal banhammer coming down are also great education to teach us not to rape.
I agree that we should (and already do) teach men not to rape.
I have a broad definition of 'teach' then. I don't think we need formal education outside of juvenile sex ed.

I remember hearing that there was outrage over John Kasich saying he would tell female college students to avoid parties where heavy drinking was involved to lower their risk of rape. I thought it was common sense and couldn't understand why there was outrage. It was that moment when I realized feminists did not have common sense.

It just doesn't make sense. I am on their side for this one. I'm saying that I don't want women to be raped. I know people who were raped and it is a pretty vile crime when it is brutal and extreme.
I literally tried giving them a damn guide on how to avoid rape and they try and argue against me.
