The groom sign with the handcuffs is pretty on par lol

Jordan Peterson essentially said as much: you and your partner are handcuffed to each other, and neither one can get away with anything. He thinks marriage holds both spouses accountable. He's delusional.

poor bastard is still living in the 70's is the problem, doesn't see how bad the decadence has become.
even throughout history AWALT, but at least in the past there were severe ramifications for being caught which added some incentive for women to curb their nature.

JBP's son should make him a Tinder and have him play with it for a week. He'll be posting on this sub in no time. His first post will be something like: "Women suck, and I'm noOot doin' it..."

He has academic idealism. Ideas that don’t reflect the realty on the ground.
[–]wildfireboat1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
They would reflect the ideas on the ground if women couldn't vote.

Ya but good luck with that changing in a 1000 years.
Peterson has a good idea in that monogamous men and women, in committed relationships, with the goal of living together as a family, was better for both men and women.
Peterson is delusional in that he thinks the situation can be changed by saying as much. We can't turn the machine back. Propaganda about the work hard play hard and fuck everything that moves lifestyle has permeated every corner of our society. Young people, especially young women, are so impressionable that they're beyond saving.
There's a reason why women in their late 20's especially are more miserable than ever. After five to ten years of "sexual liberation," all you have is shot hearing from spending so much time in clubs, HPV, dulled emotional attachment capabilities, and no direction in life.
[–]Folwart3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
When did he say this?
[–]simplystimpy7 points8 points9 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
"You take someone who is just as useless and horrible as you are, and then you shackle yourself to them. And then you say, 'We're not running away, no matter what happens' . . . If you tell someone the truth about you and they don't run away, they weren't listening!"
From The Shackles of Marriage
He claims to have learned all of this from Jung. I don't know enough about Jung to say what he was all about, but I think Peterson went off into his own world.

Basically, if marriage was still marriage, i.e. it was impossible or at least extraordinarily difficult to get divorced, then I'd agree with his message much more. I probably still wouldn't want to return to the plantation, but at least there'd be some logic to it. Especially if you want kids.
But we're so far from that. Marriage doesn't contain women, it empowers them.
[–]tankriderr3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
He's your typical tradcuck conservative. don't expect much wisdom from him in this matter
[–]LJHova3 points4 points5 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Jordan Peterson is one of those people who uses large words that he doesn't understand in order to make himself look smarter. Unfortunately, his logic is inconsistent and his arguments are based on assumptions that can't be backed up.
[–][deleted] -1 points0 points1 point 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Very delusional but then again he's a tradcon that votes Republican that thinks his point of view works as opposed to the libtard lifestyle. As smart as he is he's caught up in the false left right paradigm as both mindsets are flawed and keep people (mainly men) in bondage.
[–]cobaltcolander19 points20 points21 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
First of all, Peterson couldn't vote Republican even if he wanted to, as he's not a US citizen. He's Canadian. Secondly, he proclaimed himself being liberal on many occasions (though he's not happy with the direction the party has taken).
[–]Scheefplace896713 points14 points15 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Peterson is about a better society. MGTOW is for men, not a better society because we know we as individuals cannot fix it. Peterson is asking the right questions about what is wrong with society. You don't have to agree with everything he says but he makes great points and cuts libtards to ribbons.
[–]cobaltcolander2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I agree with everything you said/wrote. But note that all that is still orthogonal to whether Peterson "votes Republican", as the guy above me stated.

In spanish, handcuff is the word for married.
[–]MGTOWfr48 points49 points50 points 8 years ago (5 children) | Copy Link
In French, the word for "wedding ring" is "alliance", meaning marriage was nothing more than a political game of uniting two big families.

Nice I didn't know all that! Yes there are feminists in Quebec here that suggested French should be gender-neutral. But I think you heard of Quebec, the people who control the government and media here are French language purists and zealots. We even have a language police, so they shut that feminist shit down quick.
[–]Stahlboden2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
In Russian the word for "marriage" also has a meaning of "industrial defect". There is even a saying "they wouldn't call a good thing "defect"".
[–]GranUnic0rn1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
All of the above were brilliant

for married
For wife.
Esposa = wife = handcuff.
Casado = married.
[–]FreshNothingBurger6 points7 points8 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Sure it's not arruinado?
[–][deleted] 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
A direct translation for esposa means spouse in English.
[–]Dronelisk0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
But spouse can.be applied to both genders, whereas there is no such thing as "esposo" in spanish
[–]Ghost_Goggles1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago* (0 children) | Copy Link
Yes there is. This whole thread is retarded. Esposar comes from the latin word to be bonded. Handcuff is not a literal translation
[–][deleted] 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
In Japanese, the words for "prisoner" and "husband" are almost homophones.

It amazes me that men actually still get married nowadays. I mean in the modern West at least.
[–][deleted] 2 points3 points4 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
I can’t believe it either. How can men be so stupid? There is so much information on why not to get married but men still go ahead and get on one knee.
Terrible.
