If a movie is good, it doesn't matter who is in the lead.

The Last Jedi was just bad...it attempted to educate instead of entertain, spat on Luke because they wanted new characters to look better and wasn't even star wars really.

If the last Jedi spent the whole movie force-feeding tradcon shit, it would be just as bad. Let movies be an escape again already.

Finally, the rapid releases of movies is oversaturating the market which is hurting the excitement and all of the star wars movies have been just meh so far at best.

Some of the shit this guy goes on about in this article is rage inducing. I used to adore star wars but now that it run by Kathleen Kennedy its become intolerable. Shes is more preoccupied in creating empowering female characters rather than recreating the magic that makes star wars, star wars.

I've definitely noticed a trend in media, mostly commercials, of strong women and their hopeless goofball husbands. The woman comes in and saves the day for the whiney douche but the funny thing is that it always seems that whatever "creative" thing the woman does amounts to pushing a button. It's always something that is not difficult at all for anyone with half a mind, but the narrative is "Thank the Goddess for this strong female because there's no way I could do this simple task myself."

I fucking called it. They know The Last Jedi poisoned the well, but they blame white men to save face. I have accepted that Star Wars under Kennedy isn't Star Wars, but a feminist propaganda piece wearing it's skin. Yet that wasn't apparent to general audiences until TLJ.
