After reading the sidebar for the past few months, lurking the sub, and reading some of the threads, I see that a lot of you in here want to better the quality of your life in terms of doing better with women or just getting ahead. For those that want to live a semi-Dan Bilzerian lifestyle, this is for all of you.

Summary: While social life is handed to us in our school years, it becomes somewhat of a major challenge after we get that diploma. Yet having a big social circle, especially if you are an American, has a lot of benefits that just cannot be ignored.

It's who you know:

Think back to your high school and college days, the guys who were generally high on the social ladder usually had the hottest girls by their arms. In your high school days, the football players were the ones who were invited to the nicest parties and always getting in on the action with the best looking girls. In college, it was more or less the time but fraternities and sororities had a big say in it too. The guys who were getting the better looking girls and getting invited to the nicest social events had one thing in common, they had a very active social life.

I've always had the belief and a lot of personal experience has confirmed it for me that in order to be good with women and get some of the better looking women out there, you need to be good with people. Being good with people helps you excel in one of the key aspects of game, that is status. Once you are a high status guy in the social world, you get a lot of added benefits like being called to that party that the nerds weren't invited to, dating that hot girl most guys would eye-fuck in public, always having something to do on vacation, not having to deal with isolation, or always having somewhere to go knowing that you will be there with a few fun people.

See, this is why I have always condemned most of PUA and found it to do more harm than good. They take these socially isolated geeky guys, teach them some gimmicky stuff, and send them out in public where these guys make a fool out of themselves. These guys may get laid due to running the numbers game but they don't truly acquire the status that leads to an interesting life overall. Most of their lives consist of being obsessed with running game and female psychology rather than having a well rounded overall life. From my experience, these guys usually end up getting lower quality or mediocre bar skank type of girls rather than some of the better looking women. I've seen these guys getting kicked out of public places for "running game" because they creeped girls out and just didn't know when to stop and known a couple who, for the most part, live a very isolated life.

After college, things get very tricky when it comes to social life. You're no longer around people your age as much and there is no such thing as freshman orientation, dorms, or Greek Life to help you do things like making friends and meeting available women. For a lot of us 20 something guys, this is where the depression comes in. We work a soul crushing job, are no longer around fun and energetic people anymore, and some of our friends we know are now getting married because of this very fear of loneliness.

It is at this stage of life that having a social life and a larger social circle, all of which were easy in our school years, can help us a lot. We can do fun things with our friends, celebrate special events, date some girls in our social circle, go to a fun trip together, hit the bars together, and just about anything other than sitting in our apartment lonely. It is so much better to spend New Year's Eve with hot girls and a few cool guys rather than sitting at home alone watching porn.

The fact of the matter is, the kind of lifestyle you guys aspire for, the one that involves avoiding marriage and doing something that is more worth while and amazing will likely require a vast social network. If you want to be the guy who is 30 years old but regularly has fun times with and meets a lot of attractive women in their 20s, it is going to require an active social life.

Yet that is the point where men hit the brick wall too. After college, building the social life takes some serious work. You don't have a brotherhood of cool friends or a social circle with cute girls in it, they've scattered. Opportunities do not present themselves as readily anymore, a lot of people have their social circles established, and making new friends/acquaintances becomes a tall obstacle.

Which is why I would love to have a discussion on how a lot of 20 somethings who are no longer in the school environment can build a big social network and have an active social life. It makes the whole thing so much easier.

Lessons learned:

A lot of what you want to accomplish, especially in terms of women and sexual strategy, is going to require an active social life. Unfortunately, for those of us not in school anymore, this becomes a tall order.
