I have been instilled by my dadmostly to always question: Why? I do it for everything, why do I want this, why do I feel like this, why would I want to do what others do? It's a question that sticks to you and once you get the hang of it, doesn't necessarily leads to happiness. It does lead to awareness, observation and deduction and I make all my decisions based on the why's.. It also means that once I've made up my mind, decided something is X, this is HOW IT IS. No-one, unless he/she can reason very well and has valid arguments, will not budge on this. I don't care about your opinion about me and such, etc.

you are right, and it‘s the reason why subs like this exist, so that men can learn from each other and see diff perspectives which add up to reality. as i get older, i realize how little i know about things and become more receptive to other‘s wisdom.

This is why i'm attracted to libertarianism/voluntary association; we can never know for sure what another person wants or desires - so it's best to create a system that allows each individual as much liberty as possible.

A lot of the world's problems are caused, i believe, by people trying to interfere in each other's lives.

Is there such a thing as an objective reality? If yes, isn't your idea of a "strong reality" just a strong isolation from the rest of the universe, not just other people? And what would all of this have to do with sexual energy? There are many ways in which one's own perceptions could be colored.

I think it has to do with traits like agreeableness and empathy. It's like wanting to hear their story and see life through their eyes, rather than push your perspective on them and making them see life through your eyes.

I think that's why a lot of kind, agreeable and empathetic people get ran over and easy manipulated. When there is a conflict of perspective, the agreeable person will actually sit back and question themselves "am I wrong?". Dominate, less agreeable and selfish people tend to just be on the attack. To question themselves, in their mind, is a form of weakness and gives your "opponent" the opportunity to attack.

An agreeable person will deeply weigh in their hearts what the person is saying, the dominate person will only look for weaknesses to attack and "win". Empathetic people will actually, if information is perhaps unclear, will give them the benefit of the doubt, and assume there is something wrong with themselves, rather than the speaker, in not being able to understand what was said.

Hell, that's probably why politicians are so corrupt and rise to power in the way they do.

An example of getting sucked into another's reality is like going to the grocery store with the plan to get only these 3 specific things, then walking out with 10+ things and thinking it was my idea to get them all.

Takes a strong will to be in a store full of things and not grab an extra thing or ten.

Like JP said in his book on 12 rules for life: we, and monkeys see the world as a realm of action, not things. We see an ocean that we can swim in; boil and drink from, hide in, travel on. We don't see objects without verbs attached, is the essence of his idea. Thus, women are sexual objects for some, but they're therapists for others, and etc.

Our awareness and conjecture might determine our perceived realm of actions. Unless I know a shotgun blows people's heads off, I likely will NOT run and grab one if a bear is charging me (think early-early native Americans).

IMO, it is not about your reality holding up or defending against others'. Your strength in your reality is proportional to how blind it can make you be to your own ignorance.

Try to understand others and their opinion. It will be obvious to you very quickly if they are interested in a meeting of the minds, and yes, it is fairly rare that this is the case. But there is no need for an internal ideological war.
