tl;dr: SF and Berkeley are full of pussies. The women are starving for masculine men.
A field report from California:
Intro:
After an 8-month dry spell, I fly to the west coast for a research project. Earlier I’d arranged to crash on the couch of a friend of a friend for the week. I arrive and discover that there is a girl living there. She and I began hooking up on the second night, and I only spent one night on the couch that week.
Body
San Francisco & Berkeley are ripe for the picking. She and all of her girlfriends complained that all the “men” out there are pussy hipsters. After standing up for my views, and just being clearly more intelligent than the girls around me, they warmed up to my “different” style. They loved it, and I got them to admit that they loved it. Later, I said to the girl “liberal women want a masculine man who is liberal. Conservative women want a masculine man who is conservative. No one wants a feminine man.” Keep in mind, this is a hyper-liberal girl who goes to UC Berkeley. She agreed with my statement whole heartedly.
I met the girl randomly. My first point of contact in the apartment was another guy who lived there, not her. She told me later that this was a positive thing. So, putting yourself in situations where you will be introduced to other women by accident is a great way to gain access to the resource in a way that your intentions are not immediately known. This gives you flexibility. Although, there is something to be said for making your intentions known right off the bat.
On St. Patrick’s day, her girlfriends instigated some drama because they thought I was hitting on her friend. I was amazed that within 4 days of knowing this girl, I was already caught up in some petty female bullshit. They thrive on this stuff. Lesson: Use other women to drive demand for yourself. Social proof.
Once, she threw a hard shit test my way. We were out eating at an in-n-out, and she went to the bathroom while I was in line. When she returned, I had already ordered (for myself only). She says, "You didn't order anything for me?" I said, "I didn't know what you wanted." She said, "You should have texted me." To which I replied, "I thought you would be back before I got to the front. Didn't think it was necessary. If you were concerned, you should've left me with your order." Then, at the table, she starts getting bitchy and whining about how the fries weren't done right, and how her perfect meal had been ruined. Not kidding. I start saying things like "pobresita" (poor baby in Spanish) and making fun of her for being ridiculous. She eventually stops and I change the subject. Later, she asked me if she had been a brat at all during the trip. I said, "Yeah, sometimes." She asked when. I told her about the restaurant scene. She told me, "Yeah, when I realized my approach wasn't working, I just stopped."
Lessons Learned:
1.) Attraction is relative. Go to places where you will look good by comparison.
2.) Sometimes, unplanned introductions lower the barrier to entry into a woman's social world.
3.) Women will bitch and moan only if they think you are going to respond to it.
Conclusion:
All in all, I got 4/6 nights in a bed for free, when originally I would’ve only had the couch to sleep on. I got invited to social events in SF for St. Patrick’s day and the night before. I got free stuff too (aside from sex). Can’t complain.
