OR their prospects are diminishing, and they don’t have the energy to chase women anymore. So they pick one that “gets to” take care of them. Just because they have to settle down OR be responsible for themselves doesn’t mean they want to and it certainly doesn’t mean they will appreciate it. In all likely hood they will be resentful that they did it and take it out on who they ensnared.

Why are men commitmentphobes? I remember this book I have (written by a man and woman) for women about all the bullshit, and the author said that he couldn't get many guys to commit to an interview for the book. Some couldn't even commit to a goddamn gym membership. That's how terrified they are. I wish I could remember the name of the book...Men Who Can't Love: How to Recognize a Commitmentphobic Man Before He Breaks Your Heart. A number of the accounts of male depravity in that book were utterly infuriating. The stories still make me wonder how the fuck insecurity leaves a person afraid of anything and everything commital.

I was insecure for a very long time, but that would never and has never caused me to tell a guy I'm going to move in with him, accept a marriage proposal, and then move to another fucking city.

It’s starting to feel like a losing game for me. It feels almost impossible for a woman to know for sure if the guy will commit. :/
