The answer: you can't get away with saying it. Not forever. This is going to be a Big Deal for her.

So you have to decide whether you're (a) comfortable with saying it back, or (b) comfortable with having her leave you because of it.

The correct reason for not saying "I love you" is that you don't love her, not because some jerk on the internet said that saying it will make you "less of an alpha male". Honestly, you can basically ignore everything that gets written on the internet about how to be an alpha male. The guys who write that shit? They aren't.

i personally think its ok to say it. as long as you never initiate it, but only respond it when she says it.

she will get satisfied for the moment, but wonder whether this is something you really mean or just say to please her. dread game.

but never say it when she uses this phrase as a mean to make up for misbehaviour on her side.

I said it after I had been with the girl for 8 months. I actually did love her and don't regret beginning to say it at that point. We talked and pretty much agreed (several months after that) that saying it early was a very taboo thing, to wait to say it adds the proper 'weight' to the phrase.

Kind of like saying someone is your best friend after you've only known them for 2 days. What does that even mean at that point??

So basically I believe that it's ok to say it to your gf if you've been with her for some time. And only if you're sure she actually loves you back (she should love you more and this should be super clear) before you say it.

"I love you," is the cheapest way to make a woman happy that I know of. Drinks, dinners and diamonds cost money. Love is free. As long as SHE is the one that feels/says it first you have the upper hand. Don't eschew love. Just remember that YOU are the gatekeeper.

Use access to your love as the ultimate reward for good behaviour. You'll be surprised how good a girl can be. Give "love" away without thinking and you make it worthless. Make her earn it and every "I love you" is like a lobster dinner.

Waited three months before saying it to my current g/f. We were already sleeping together obviously. She had told me she loved me drunk a few times within six weeks, but I ignored that and didn't bring it up. She told me again a week later in the middle of sex so I smiled and continued.

I think since she's said she loves you she percieves your value higher than her. From this point the ball is completely in your park. Just ignore any shit tests and she will want toyou even more.
